It’s underestimated how many black men & boys died from the fraudulent allegations made by white women. This is what you call proxy violence.

I will LOVE having a dinner and a drink here once it's restored and transformed into a luxury bank bar! I'll make a special trip to experience this gem of American History. Please do not let the greed and destructive nature of those whom hate history prevail.

Dr Richard Howard was my great grandfather. His surgery and home was located on Las Olas Blvd. after graduating Med School, He moved to Ft Lauderdale in1913. I have his front porch rattan “waiting room” furniture. Federal highway was called rocky road. His daughter, Helen Howard Woodruff was my favorite Aunt. Miami’s main library publishes the TEQUESTA MAGAZINE, loaded with wonderful stories about south Florida.

Hollywood native here. 1953. My mom worked at Hollywood Beach Hotel during WW2. My uncle was the general manager back then. Love revisiting the history of old Hollywood. It sure is not that today.

Thank you for your history lesson. It really helped me understand my grandfather's life..I was told he was a glassblowing but then he followed the gas boom. I didn't understand how it was connected. We always had interesting glass items mostly used for special occasions. We also had glass ball paperweights. I have been trying to identify some of the glass pieces Ihave..some passed onto me by family and some I bought. Thank you.

Great research work by Mary Beth Busutil on behalf of Hollywood Historical Society. Architectural history is fascinating. Learned about glorious past of the City of Hollywood and its famous architect Bayard Lukens. Hope younger generations benefit from this wonderful and interesting presentation. Keep doing this important research work.
