Wonderful competition! More ideas to mix things ups: - create one series of inputs that finishes multiple maps (A01 plus map of choice, for example) - create a run where the game sound sounds as close as possible to some song (Rick TASley, anyone?). Like the synced line rider videos...but in reverse, sort of. - take a map with many ring checkpoints and require TAS to hit/crash every single ring (instead of just flying through each one)
I think all that Platform Mode needs is a leaderboard for the date/time of first no-respawn completion (NOT of time spent on that run). Then it would be great for community challenges like Deep Dip or Oach
absolutely baffling update. there is no way they didn't know this would receive backlash when they decided to release it like this. any developer could see it from miles away, i'm absolutely speechless.
TMUF Platform mode is terrific. I was literally just playing it this week (I just finished Platform E for the first time, and Platform D4 is one of my favourite Nadeo maps ever).
What would you change though? The idea is just hard to implement anyway, every standard race was a no-respawn or you don’t win to begin with… Maybe add a time limit?
I just....I dont understand the point. Why would you ever return to the platform mode once you finish a map without respawns. It's completely dead on arrival, huge L to recycle this content in my opinion. Without a time leaderboard, absolutely pointless. Anyone with half a brain cell could see it was going to be useless.
In single player yeah. But I could see a cup-like format where consistency is the key. Even then it’s not really great… Maybe just do really long and hard maps with this?
@magicksilver4444 even then, the best players are gonna learn the map and do it with no respawns. Can't have a winner in a cup where there's a 40 way tie every round.
I have two specific things I want to see, which perhaps may be related. 1. What's the fastest possible speed on the ingame counter one could achieve with everything TMUnlimiter provides? (If there's some setting(s) in that mod that makes this challenge extremely boring, probably ban that lmao) 2. Is it possible to clip through the sky sphere and fall into the outer void? Perhaps with the same rules as of the first suggestion?
The first was published in 2021? Lol no. In 2007 they existed, and as far as I know they had existed for a couple of years prior too but in protected circles.
27:20 howd they get over 10m in this straight path w almost no incline? If it’s a TAS wouldnt it be trivial to get 0m on all portions of the track that can be driven with a speed below 1 (so basically anything without an incline)
25:01 doesnt this mean you can do challenge two (the skybox one) without editing the max car speed? I was already thinking about this before I got to this point but this confirms it for me. I highly doubt there’s a true max speed limit as in the true velocity vector of the car. If they were able to actually implement that 100% accurately than it’s likely the speedometer would display speeds in all directions accurately. The only cap is likely on the car’s speedometer. So yes this will affect your speed if you try going faster than 999 straight, but if you built up sideways speed that reads lower on the speedometer than your actual true velocity vector, there shouldn’t be any kind of hard velocity cap. Hopefully that makes sense. This was surprisingly weirdly hard to explain.
