Hello my friend, and welcome to my RU-vid channel.
After my first "musicmaniac1965" channel being hacked, i'm back with a new channel. I added the word "keyboard" to keep my recognizable name.
My most recent keyboard is the Yamaha Genos, next to a Yamaha Tyros 4. I also still have my Yamaha PS6100, and Generalmusic WK4 powerstation.
Feel free to subscribe, like, and comment. I love interaction with my visitors. I used to have close to 9.000 subs, so maybe we can grow this channel at least just as big!
Good day Ronald, have you been able to test your stereo Stagepas 1K MKII PA System in a larger room or outdoors yet? Have you found it difficult to set up for stereo sound? I think for me the biggest disappointment in the Stagepas MKII is that there is not a graphic or parametric EQ for the main output; the Speech-Music-Club knob does not offer much in terms of shaping the overall EQ of the main output. The 4 band parametric EQ for each channel is nice but it seems that it would have been very easy for Yamaha to include something very similiar for the main output as well. Still, would be interested in a follow up review after 6 months with your MKII set up. Cheers. - Richard
Thanks for your visit and questions. A follow up review to add more information will be added as soon as i also had the chance to use them outside, like in a outdoor performance or keyboard workshop. Using the speakers in a big hall works fine. I agree, it should be nice if they made the EQ more inventive, like with more sliders, instead of how they do it now in the app. The advantage is that if you get to grips with how this works, for each input you can create save states, so you can make EQ settings for for instance a keyboard, a phone (paired trough bluetooth) or a microphone. Then you can use the app to swap them as needed. Setting them up in stereo is easy: Buy a cable to connect the Link Out from speaker 1 with the Link input that is under the Mic/Line 1 socket on speaker 2. If you also want to use the inputs from the other speaker, you have to have a second cable to do this from the Link Out on speaker 2 to the Link input under the Mic/Line 1 socket on speaker 1. Now all you have to do is press the Stereo button on both speakers, so the orange LED is on. Now your speakers are in stereo. If you have a keyboard connected to the stereo input, and also have a Bluetooth connection, both are on the same channel, so they both use the same EQ settings on the app. So i have one adjustment for the Bluetooth, and one for my keyboards. My mic is connected to the keyboard, so no EQ needed for that, as i have this done in the keyboard EQ. For a big hall, i am really happy with the speakers. Due to the 170 degree sound spread, you have good sound all around you when you are on a stage, pointing the speakers towards the audience. I use simple Yamaha Genos 2 monitor speakers for my own sound. This works great for me. Hope this helps. As soon as i had the chance to play/perform/keyboard workshop outside, i will do a second video with all the above mentioned info included, but also with my findings on how they perform out in the open. Just don't expect a true 1100 watt performance per speaker. I don't know how they measure this, but when i was verry young (around 18 or so, now i am 58) i heard two 1000 watt speakers (RMS) and they where MUCH louder than what my current speakers can hande. But for what i am using them for, they fit the job perfectly, and i love the fact they are from plastic, and per speaker don't weigh more than a bundle of cement (sow below 25 KG) and this with the free carrying bag included. I love how portable they are, but still packs a good punch in the bass department when set up properly. Kind regards, Ronald.

Vriendelijke groeten, Ronald.
The style is called Acoustic8Bt, but i copied it from my Tyros 4, and changed the instruments to those in the Genos. Now i use the same style on the Genos 2, with no other changes to it. I don't know if the style is also avaiable in the Genos, but i do know you can easilly use a Tyros 4 version even without changing instruments, it sounds great!
Thanks for your visit and compliment. This was a long time ago, but due to problems with the video we included in the previous upload, it was no longer visible, so Maurice made a new one without the forbidden video. Glad you enjoyed our collaboration. Kind regards, Ronald.
This video is a old collaboration between me from the Netherlands, and my friend Maurice (morelke) from Belgium. I play the Yamaha Tyros 4, and Maurice a Yamaha PSR S 950. Hope you like this song.

I watched this one AND your other tutorial in Dutch too giving you a thumbs up (actually two thumbs up LOL!!) I understand what reverb is much better now than when I first heard it on a video from Yamaha where they mentioned reverb. Excellent and clear explanation. I wish you a very nice evening.

Hope you get it working. To bad that if they release a new keyboard, the old one is not supported anymore. But i guess external styles and midi will still work.

Thank you very much for your visit and compliment. Nice to hear that you like my reworked version of this golden oldie. Have a nice day. Kind regards, Ronald.
Vriendelijke groeten, Ronald.

@@karindidriksen2768 Yes, all is well and anticipating the solar eclipse via RU-vid livestream since I don't have those protective glasses to see it in real life. Nice sunny weather but will get cloudy soon. Cold temperatures late at night into early morning. Warmer in the afternoon and early evening hours. Had my parents over for late Easter since mom felt sick last week. Hope all is well with you and that you are having nicer weather.

A reworked song i did previously on the Yamaya Tyros 4. The same external song style, with my tweaked and changed One Touch Settings, and of course some new RevolutionReverb added for more spaceious sound. Hope you like my new approach to this song, and the new video edit.
The tyros 4 sounds amazing, great job! 13 yr old arranger still very very impressive. I've always thought the Tyros 4 was the best of their line up. Love the tilted screen, it's a big reason I adore my pa5x. How's the keybed on the tyros 4? I played with a genos 2 for an hour last week, and after having the pa5x under my fingertips for a month, I hated the genos 2 keybed feel. It feels like a toy in my opinion. But we all have different requirements/opinions, that's what makes the world go round, and keeps companies doors open.
What version of the PA5X do you have? The one with the piano weighted key's? Both the Genos keyboard as well as the Tyros 4 keyboard feels the same, and the mechanical noice if you don't use the sound out of the keyboard is a bit higher on the Tyros, and a bit more muffled on the Genos. I know what you mean with a toy feeling. The hole case feels like a toy as everything is made out of plastic. For me, this is brilliant, as i am 58 years old, and don't feel like carrying around a heavy keyboard. This is also why i've bought some plastic Yamaha Stagepas 1K MKII speakers, as the sound good, but are not that heavy to carry around. When i got the first Genos, i also tried the PA4X, but the o.s. is so complicated, that with everything i wanted to do in the music store, i had to ask for help. On the Genos (after having the Tyros 4 from launch day) i imediately knew how the o.s. works. For my age, i prefer to stick with what i know.
@@musicmaniac1965keyboard I have the 61, but this is hands down, the best semi weighted key action I've ever used. I had the same problem, but with the Genos. I had no idea how to approach it. I've been in the Korg ecosystem since '88 with the M1, I could use these in my sleep. Same as you could with any yamaha. I added a roland and akai to my Nautilus, that was a huge mistake. Didn't lose 2 much $ on selling them less than a year later, I put those funds towards the pa5x, best investment I've made musically. Like you, I'm also at the point where i prefer to stick with what I know. I learned that the hard way with the Fantom 06 and mpc key. Keep posting vids, I enjoy them 🙂
@@SpOoNmAn365 Thanks, nice to hear you enjoy the videos. You are right, cool to hear you've been using Roland sinds 1988. I do love the sound from them, also the PA5X has awesome sounds and styles. And if you can get that out of your instrument, i know you will be happy with it. Keep having fun making music. Kind regards, Ronald.
@@SpOoNmAn365 Hello. It was nice song to hear from you on both instruments. I own a Genos 2 - my dream instrument since I was in love in Tyros (1). It was too expensive for me. In February was my big day buying Genos 2. I think I'd watched every video on RU-vid on that time which could help me take a decision, while I didn't know which arranger suits me best - Genos 2 or PA5X. It was a hard time for me. Read all manuals of them (Korg with over 500 pages). I made a decision, but the last voice was from keyboard feeling. While I own also an old Korg SP-500 stage piano, and last years played only "piano style" pieces I was very nervous about keyboard on them both. I checked them in store and...I was so dissapointed by Korg PA5X keyboard. Playing on it made so strange feeling to me comparing to the old, but still very good hammer action keyboard of SP-500. I was expecting some more weight on keyboard, but for me it was too soft, too "easy" for a hammer keyboard. While on Genos we have "an organ style" dynamic keyboard with aftertouch, as a user of Korg I was expecting a way too more from Korg keyboard at their top arranger... It was a shock for me. Keyboard had spoken to me... It is true, that you must get used to Genos 2 keyboard, but after a week or two it is for me as natural as playing on weight hammer keyboard. As a "piano style" player I connect my old Korg Stage Piano with, in my opinion, top weight hammer action keyboard even in 2024, to my Genos 2, so this set is in my opinion is a completely blown mind. One of the cons on Genos 2 is lack of half-pedaling on Pianos, but I enjoy it so much! Over time I see that I made a good decision, and more and more videos with comparsion of them two makes me even more convinced. So old Korg keyboard with new Yamaha top-arranger is "invincible team" for me 🙂
