I worked as an animator for a sort of a sequel for Gajić some years ago but sadly project fell into the production/post production hell. Can also confirm this movie was made by around 8 to 10 people.
This, Sit with me in my childhood memory along with other like Jumanji TV series or Cybersix. Its really quite a time to experience something that aimed toward "children" yet given a feeling of something much darker and stranger. *SPOILER* I just also realized the opening credit with all the "carnival ride" floating around. We are in fact looking at something much more horrify that what our eye can perceived once you get deeper into the story!!!
Great and funny video! In my opinion, this movie is one of the better movie tales. Far from great, but it has nice moments, like the Magic Mirror scenes (creeped me out as a kid!), and the Evil Queen in general. I think Diana Rigg saves the movie from being a total disaster here with her excellent, even overacting, appearances in some many interesting (and weird) costumes.
My guess, after public domain, instead of making into horror movie, Popeye will just make him into badass character in cheap violent action movie, like Die Hard or John Wick style
More so cow and chicken was the Ren and stimpy of cartoon network... Both 2 stupid dogs and cow & chicken Could be seen as " clones " of ren and stimpy .
Actually, people in Serbia rarely know about this movie, I only know it because I had a DVD when I was a kid and I rewatched it countless times. I disagree about the sex scene, I think it was done beautifully, the fact that it was her subconsciousness and simulated sensations and all. Also about the wierd scene in the parliment, I don't understand it either, but it gives me a certain feeling that I can't describe, the atmosphere of the whole movie is like that. I believe that the creators really managed to portray a believable future for Belgrade which I suppose you could only understand if you were born in Serbia hahahah. Nevertheless, this was a great review and I am glad that I found it. It makes me happy that people outside of Serbia are talking about it.
Hi, I grew up with both veggietales and wuzwuz and butbut. Yes, the style is very similar. I studied a bit of animation and I feel the reason they went for the no-limbs style is because it makes it so much easier to animate and saves time. I don't imagine they had much money to cover higher quality. However, the delivery is relatable to its audience (eliminates directly speaking about religion because they're appealing to audiences of two religions), direct cultural references (i.e the guys sitting at a men's cafe listening to classical Egyptian music). Most importantly, the moral of the story was the whole point of the show. My personal favourite was the one with the pirates - the point being made here is very Christian (no greater love than laying down one's life for his friend John 15:13) and the song at the end speaks about God, although it never says the word, it is obvious. The show does all this without saying "hey, this is a Christian show" - no, this is a show for all Egyptian children about good morals. The only other Egyptian show that I know of that existed at the time was Bakkar, which I disliked because it was the kind of show that treats their audience like they're stupid or living in a different planet (a fatherless son goes to a public school with super nice teachers and computers? Yeah right!). Wuzwuz and Butbut was not like that, it doesn't place itself in the real world for this reason, imaginative, relatable, and has great points to be made, and for that I respect it.
Turn on is not the fastest cancelled show. There was a game show back in the 1950s called Who’s Whose which was cancelled the following day after General Mills Withdrew sponsorship.
This man should have done Edgerunners. His style fits the ACTUAL Cyberpunk TTRPG world, and by extension the game. I did not like Edgerunners, it was too cute, juvenile, humorous, to "modern anime". Cyberpunk doesn't really have cute, and deals with ADULTS, not characters that are supposed to be adults but look like kids, ALL of them. Yoshiaki Kawajiri's characters look like serious adults. Cyberpunk isn't very humorous either, neither the TTRPG or the videogame, at most it has adult dry humor but none of this Zoomer anime crap. I think it was successful because it appealed to juvenile aesthetic taste of younger millennials and zoomers, but it was a VERY poor representation of true Cyberpunk, which is a tragedy when you realized Yoshiaki Kawajiri did one of the short films in The Animatrix, he was VERY qualified for Edgerunners, which sadly didn't have any edge.
I’ve always loved this show growing up, I even sometimes remember it’s jingle-like theme. The funniest parts that I would always remember would be when the little dog yells CAT! every time it sees one then the big dog would scare it stiff by just barking at it once and that’s it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
