You can do a super boost. If you press boost, release the gas, then press+hold gas right after the boost happens you do a double-boost called a super boost. You learn about it from an infotron bot in Morio's lab
They don't go away. But at the end of Offices there is a fight against Tosla that unlocks the Golden Spring. You can use that to get past the spike field
@@Killer7151 i used to play it all the time 8-10 years ago. last time i played it was 6 years ago, but soon i'm going to get new wires for my ps2 and a new memory card (i lost the old wires and memory card).
@SoxarPL different skaters have different positions for the SKATE letters. Jamie and Bam both have the fastest, so they are typically used. Street and Vert skaters also have different covershot goals
Trying to get that launch at the very start turning to the side with Devil Engine is so hard to get right lol. Also I am curious if it is possible on emulator to spoof memory card slots? If so you should be able to copy to slot 2, then trade unequipped parts between them so you'll be able to get devil parts on your teammates too
Yeah, the starting boost is really difficult to nail. Some tracks are relatively fine, but some others you have to reset over half of attempts just because of it. Takes a mixture of muscle memory and timing. For tough tracks I usually steer in one direction, and right when the race starts I throw the thumbstick in the opposite direction. As for the memory cards, you can just save your main game in the other slot anyways and trade through that.
Does someone have an explanation as to why the normal chassis gives a speed advantage in flight? And do the other chassis below the hyper chassis have a similar effect?
Other chassis have a similar but smaller effect. As to why, not completely sure, but probably has something to do with vector/velocity math and greater vehicle weight
I personally play/run the game on PCSX2 which is a PS2 emulator. As far as I know, the best options to buy it are either online, or making a lucky find in a shop selling older games (both of which I imagine will be second-hand)
I think ive got most things figured out and done a couple test runs. The one thing i cant do for the life of me is find anything remotely consistent for roulette. Any tips for this?
Mainly just practice and finding your own setup. Any% you only need to win once, but NMG and 100Stamp you need to win more than once, so some sort of consistency is important. It usually relies on looking for the 0 and 00 sections (green ones that stand out) and accelerating/boosting when they are at a specific point. Practice is important because the roulette wheel varies in speed, so you can get fast/slow cycles which changes your timing, so you can benefit from being able to recognise when a cycle is faster or slower (I typically base this on how blurred the numbers are, with greater blur being faster speed). My personal setup (that I personally have about 30-40% success rate on) is to bet on 6, then drive to the edge of the roulette and wait. I'm keeping my eye on the green 00. Once it is at the right side of my screen (just about to pass), I accelerate+boost. Depending on whether I recognise a faster or slower cycle, I'll start boosting sooner or later. In my run attempt 1 was slightly fast, which is why I was too late. Attempt 2 was slightly slow, which is why I barely made it. Attempt 3 was a pretty standard speed. When doing testing, if you miss, also keep an eye on which one you landed on so you know if you were early or late. For easy reference I start roulette at about 15:40.
Just started playing this again in an effort to re-live some childhood memories. Looked up the speed run times and saw that you hold all 3 records. Proud Australian moment 😂
It depends on the specific setup used (you will see different setups from different runners), and a lot of practice! The set-up that I use in my runs is to bet on 6, drive to the edge of the roulette, and watch for the green 00. I then accelerate and boost forward once I see it about to go off-screen. The speed of the roulette does vary slightly (it's random), so if I do recognise a slow or fast spin I try and boost slightly later or earlier to compensate. My success rate probably hovers around 40-50% which is pretty decent. And yes, proud Aussie Road Trip gamer 😊
