This is out of date; the volume of traffic on these roundabouts is now HUGE and you would never be able to pull out on an empty stretch. And no-one adheres to the etiquette, cutting you up from both sides. No wonder there have been so many accidents on this stretch. Replace some roundabouts with lights.
My test is on this Friday (5/5/23) in Barnstaple and this video is really helpful. Now I have a question: At 8:38 we see the van signalling to the right is coming and is in the roundabout. You didn't give it the way although it has priority. Why?
I don't understand why there is still so much of rash driving on UK roads when the so-called famed "UK driving test" is rigorous. I would appreciate if you put a little bit of relevant commentary in your videos. Also, I think if you explain your positioning before the roundabouts it will be good, as I think it's a lot of local knowledge at play here, not logic.
question 2 ,the answer is section c. dont confuse people please , "If your vehicle is stationary and is likely to remain so for some time, switch off the engine."
A useful video for those taking a test in Exeter. However, at 15.51 to about 16.10 the driver uses the wrong lanes on approach to and through the Exe Bridges section. The route is clearly signed for the A377 as left lane on approach, 2nd lane on the first section, left lane as you cross the Exe before turning left. The middle, middle, left route shown here is wrong!
Hi, at 10:58 wouldn't it be wiser to stay in the left lane when taking the third exit towards reading because you chose the right lane on the roundbaout.. What if there were traffic on your left where trying to exit that roundabout because theres only one lane?
Yes, what's shown in this video contradicts what the road markings tell you and what my driving instructor has said to do. The signs are obviously a bit confusing (my instructor likes to say that "the signs are lying to you" here because of the different angle of the third exit on the two different signs). But the road marking clearly says A327 is the left lane on the approach, and I would absolutely be surprised to find someone doing what the person in this video does. I thought when they went into the right lane in the video that they must be going to take the fourth exit -- and right as they exited they made a weird little swerve right which made it even more confusing. I'm just a learner too, but I don't think what's shown in this video is correct for Meadowgate from this direction. It would be really helpful if the video had commentary (more than just those "top tips", because it's hard to even tell whether those are corrections of what the driver did or not), or a discussion of faults at the end.
@@rebecca57558 This is a 'local knowledge' roundabout - which basically stands for a mess that the council refuse to fix signage for. But yeh highway code advises right lane based on the initial board sign on approach which would put the exit to the right position, but then on actual approach to the roundabout the road markings clearly say left lane for the exit. Ultimately on a test if you messed up here I would just go around. You could risk it like they have done here, but at best your getting a minor but there's a lot here that could go wrong (especially in traffic) that could easily get you a major.
@@adamparker1732 in round about i was confused my signal was on right direction and i was going on wrong direction as well , so suddenly I realised i need to went over left so changed mind and changed signal make me fail
Thanks for the Video, I am from London, Failed my test and booked the next one in Ashford as lack of appointments and I'd like to book an Instructor for my test day which is on 26th of October and possibly a mock test beforehand. Thank You
