I'm into cryptocurrency. I want to develop enough passive income to retire and live on crypto from the monthly income. Do you want to come along for the ride?
I have installed ckpool. It seems to start ok, then displays > Failed to bind socket for 2620:1e6:100:1605::4:3333 > Connector failed to bind to socket, retrying in 5s This repeats until the app returns: > Connector failed to bind to socket for 2 minutes with errno 99: Cannot assign requested address > Connector failure, shutting down with errno 99: Cannot assign requested address I can follow a recipe, but I don't yet have one for this error. Any suggestions? Thanks
I have a question, sir. This controller provides two ports for ARGB with a splitter. If I connect six fans using the splitter, will I be able to control my six NZXT RGB fans individually, or will they be synchronized to one color like regular three-pin ARGB fans?
Hi Phil, Great tutorial and presentation. I have followed your previous bitcoin-core full node instructions and everything is great. However, with the solo mining ckpool, I have hit a brick wall. I have followed your instructions to the guide, but I can only get ckpool running off the terminal line and not as a service. Using ckpool -B, all is good, but running systemctl start ckpool.service, the cursor hangs, and never returns to the prompt. I have built this on ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS, due to the fact I wanted the built in remote desktop feature. Please could you advise or re-release a new guide on this ubuntu version. Great channel, keep up the great work.
Thanks for super videos and tutos. Have a question. Does the public-pool supports the bitcoin testnet addresses started like tb1q? Have BitcoinCore (running on TESTnet) + Public pool (both on Umbrel). Pool connected on node OK. I'm trying to connect BMM100 to the pool just for testing, but no luck. I try both testnet and mainnet addresses. Thanks anyone for reply.
Question, I see the CKpool setup, do you have a implementation of a mining pool with a graphical interface? CKPool works great, but I wanna see more information on what the miners are doing like a mining solo pool. Thanks
Negative. Before I did this I had a look over the options available (not many) and decided this was the best option. This directory has statistics about each user: /home/ckpool/solobtc/logs/users This direct has statistics about the pool as a whole: /home/ckpool/solobtc/logs/pool
Quick question please! I want to use Bitcoin Core to sign my wallet. How do I create a bitcoin wallet address which Bitcoin Core will recognise and sign? When I paste a wallet address from Binance or Coinbase I get an error message on Bitcoin Core when trying to sign.
I don't know how to do that sorry. Note that if you followed one of my guides, "disablewallet=1" will be set in the bitcoin.conf file. You'll need to remove that to enable wallet functionality. Hello, I did everything and works fine but when I starting the miner, the server shows this error: Failed to query blocktemplate from node in the browser says returning POST... JSONRPC server handles only POST requests How can I fix it?
Hi, thank you for your support and videos. I have a request for us newbies...can you do a video on how to do a dashboard? this one please. /bitcoin-node-manager, there are some things I don't understand on how to set it up. Thank you. I can send paypal for your help.
Let me ask around about this. It would be so easy to compromise the security by adding in third party solutions. I need to find something highly regarded.
@@pdath Hi, I got the Bitcoin-node-manager working! It was easy, mostly is drag and drop, set a config and bingo. Can you recommend a dashboard where I can see my miners at work?
@user-pm6sv7bj3b Well done! The full-blown ckpool has a basic web interface, but that is a mission to deploy. Their is a workers directory with a file for each worker that provides stats. You would have to use that.
Try something like (while as the btc user): tail ~/snap/bitcoin-core/common/.bitcoin/debug.log Also check out the info in the description down the bottom.
Hi Phillip, I have installed Bitcoin-core and have completely downloaded the blockchain. I have followed your instructions on setting up and running ckpool solo. But, on my miners webpage it shows the status of the pool as dead. I am running the Bitcoin-core and the Ckpool solo on Ubuntu 24.04.1. What should I be looking at to fix this problem?
@@AlfredoC-j4g You can add this line to ckpool.conf (this is a good setting for 100TH - scale as needed). There is no specific "correct" answer. It most affects how frequently the ASIC will come back to the stratum proxy for its next unit of work. "startdiff" : 262144
Is there a way that I can download the Bitcoin-GUI then stop the bitcoin daemon that you have shown how to setup here and then start the Bitcoin-GUI using the user btc file directories until the complete blockchain has been download then stop the bitcoin-GUI and then restart the bitcoin daemon so that I do not have to issue all of the command line commands to determine that the complete blockchain has been downloaded?
@@pdath , I will be giving it a try when my new computer comes in. I not very familiar with linux yet, but I assuming that I can create the directory structure first after creating the group and btc user. So, if that is correct then the correct path to install the QUI is: ~/snap/bitcoin-core/common/.bitcoin/ would that be correct?
@@pdath interesting, yesterday i connected to the s21 model and tried to run the script and got unauthorized access. Will do a few more tests and report the results!
I'm not sure why I had to do this, but it wasn't working for me with "Type=forking".. I had to change this to "Type=simple". I'm using a raspberry PI btw, running it as the root
Thanks Phillip. Quick question: when you hit a block, where will the reward BTC be deposited? I see that you set your stratum username using your wallet address, but are you sure that the reward will deposit to that username? I ask because if this is not set correctly, your reward will be lost and unrecoverable.
I've had a look, but I can't find that any more sorry. I used to have an external drive with the raw video footage and things use to make the video, and well, it had an accident.
Thank you for the update Philip, always nice to hear about your experiences in mining. Can you specify if you are talking about USD or AUD when you talk about dollars?
Is it possible to just run bitcoin core on a raspberry pi 4. The OS on pi 4 is dietpi. The pi 4 is run as headless. I am trying to run both pihole and bitcoin core full node.
Hey man could I have the spreadsheet please? Thanks for this. So it seems you don't actually have to provide that spreadsheet unless they ask right, just hold onto it for 7 years and use it to help fill out your ir10? And they do the deductions based of the ir10?
Here you go: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-rEBFGVdZwweIT-FxKS-qoBuRwjLzOu-/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=113501861520857974309&rtpof=true&sd=true There is an option when filing your return to upload any attachments. You can optionally upload it at this time. You don't have to. They can ask for it. Correct, keep it on file for 7 years. Weather you get a credit to bill is based on your IR3. the IR3 draws numbers from your IR10.
Congratulations my friend, I recently hit a BCH block with the 10 Canaan nano's I have... I was wondering if I should solo mine kaspa with my overclocked kso pro.. I think it's doable, wattya think mate?
@@pdath that calculator says 8 days for a kso ultra at 500gh/s...that calculator is set at mh/s, so adjust for the difference and it seems very doable.
@@pdath i see , because when i did set up the node and stratum server there wasn’t any accepted shares due to difficulty, so do you think should i keep mining till i hit a block and it will only show the accepted share for the found block? , and server would only show stratum converter , even 2 miners connected but i think due to high difficulty
I've been buying direct from Bitmain. They ship from Malaysia or Hong Kong. Their customer service is not good. If you have problems they are just as likely to leave it to you to sort.
@@pdath is the list with venders on asic miners value´s site not more or less trusted dealers all of them (im not saying no one had any problems over time🤣) i just see the dealers i trust on that list
I fear for the the UK. From an outsiders point of view - it seems to be coming more and more like China. It should ring alarm bells that the UK is the only western or developed nation that NiceHash has had to exit. I really hope that with the upcoming change of Government that crypto rules and regulqtion gets relaxed so that companies like NiceHash can return.
I am using xmrig miner with raven-stratum proxy and RavenCoin setup on my local machien as described in your tutorial but my proxy only says "Starting stratum converter". It does not show any hashrate... XMRIG accepts the proxy though. How should I know that its working? When should the hashrate starting showing? RavenCin is uptodate and synced. MY RavenCore version 4.6.1 and OS is Windows 11. Please advise if I am missing something,...
To see it in the raven-stratum proxy console the miner has to report it to the stratum proxy. I use teamredminer, and you have to add -eth_hash_report=on to make it send the report. I'm not sure what the xmrig option will be to have it send the hash rate to the stratum proxy.
