I remember playing the demo back in the day-EA had it up on their website and it was the first game I remember where you could stream it…. mind you this was like 2011-2013. It was really limited and only let you play one family out of a selection of 4 or 5 or so but it was super fun. Whatever happened as you went on a lot was scripted. For instance, there was one house called the “crash house” or something that was this huge college frat house in the middle of having a day party. You could hang out there for a few sim hours until the police showed up, breaking up the party and forcing you to go elsewhere. There were some elements from the expansions in the demo. Like one character had the ability to detonate objects from Ambitions. So I’d go around detonating everything and then repeating once time was up. I was a bored preteen. Fun times.
I remember said Sims 3 demo. EA used to let you download the demo later on, instead of streaming it, through Origin (now just the EA app) but not anymore. if my old laptop that i had at the time EA let you download it still worked, i would've still had the files for it and archived them online. I never got the streamed version of the demo to work, so i was happy to be able to download it at the time, even though i already had the full version of the game with many of it's expansions. The demo forced you to do a small scripted sequence first, which after that, it would let you do anything you wanted on the map, but you only had 1 sim day to do it (i think) before the demo kicked you out, barely enough to explore the pyramid (World Adventures) or something else from either the base game or some of it's limited versions of the expansions that were out at the time.
6 in 2011…… i really cant cope with getting older cuz we are the same age but u have a grown voice,,,,, i see myself as a kid so WHY does someone my age have an adult voice ive got issues and im high sorry nice video ggwp
I remember being at a friends house as a kid where it seemed to be a sims pet vet running game. I’m not if it was a sims game or not, but my friend said it was. All I remember was the graphics looked like it could’ve been a sims game with downgraded graphics for an iPad. Part of my wonders if it was a an emulation of the sims 3 pets for ds, but I distinctly remember this game having bunnies. My knowledge is lacking though because I didn’t get a chance to play it and they turned off the iPad shortly into our hang out
Yep I remember playing this. It had goals it forced you to do via the sim's wishes and I specifically remember blowing a bunch of stuff up because it was showing off the Ambitions DLC. I thought it was a really cool demo and try looking for it every now and then.
There was also a Sims 2 h&m demo that they handed out in the h&m Stores one time (at least in Germany). I don’t think that it was a game of anything but more like an interactive Video. Im not sure I was 6 after all but to this day im trying to find a copy of that
There is also another Sims 3 game that is lost media now. The Sims 3 flash game that you can play on your browser. Sadly, I can't find anything about it anymore. I remember it came out before the release of Sims 3 as a promo. It was a really fun game.
wait omg i thought it was just some kind of dream bcs i vividly remember playing sims 3 thru the browser and i just assumed it was smth my mind had made up
@dr3fall355 No, The Sims Social was the Facebook Sims game. The Sims 3 flash game was kind of like a text-based game where you can decide what you do with clicks on the text.
sometimes i wonder if people who leave comments like this one are genuinely clueless of the fact that the algorithm will just give them more of this now because they engaged with it 😂 better to just close the video and move on if that’s what you think, mate
I still have my first ever phone, an LG Decoy and it still turns on and all and has the Sims 3 still downloaded from wayyyy back when, where i begged my mom to let me buy it on her Verizon bill!
I've been a player of TS3 since day one but I do definitely remember this. I remember a different version of this being available to play in various video game retailers - my local EB Games for example - which was part of a dedicated kiosk.
Also annoys the Hell out of me that they've just deleted the Mobile Version of The Sims 3. Probably because they couldn't milk as much Money out of it as from Mobile and Freeplay which are both Trash because literally everything takes 10 Hours and you need to be immediately in the Game again to get all Rewards🙄
what do you mean by just deleted? it's been gone ever since sims freeplay was created since the sims 3 mobile assets were reused for sims freeplay btw the game can still be downloaded thru sites like pandahelper
I played this demo for weeks back in 2012 when I was 11! I looked for it recently and couldn’t find it anywhere so I wondered if it was all a fever dream 😭
I completely forgot about this! There was also a demo I believe on the sims 3 website, in which you create a sim and then it tells you a description of their life - I remember watching my sister play it before sims 3 released.
Wow, never heard of this! The demo I remember was completely different and not really a demo. It was before the release of the game and was just a little browser game in which you had a character and you needed to make decisions like going to the theater with someone, filling their needs, etc. Your character was static on the left and your options were on the right, there was no animations at all. I never found any information on it!
Yeah, I’ve played that too! It was basically a rip-off of Kudos. If you don’t know the game, look it up. It was basically that but with Sims 3 pictures. I’m happy someone else remembers.
I remember this pretty specifically. I was a teenager in 2011 and very into TS3. I remember that demo and I could have even been in that thread that you had screenshots from. Anyway, I specifically remember hearing people complain about the requirements. Apparently it was all server side (as you mentioned in the video) so it'll likely never see the light of day again. I doubt it has anything very interesting but I had forgotten about it. In 2011 most people didn't really have the sort of internet speed that it required and if I remember correctly, even if you did, the demo was really difficult to get running. I mean, if you read reviews of just TS3 at the time, people had trouble getting the game to run smoothy on the hardware of the time. Forget trying to get it to run over the internet through Java.
sims 3 is notorious for being a horribly optimized game. even good PCs TODAY can't run it without low FPS, lag, rubber-banding, stuttering, etc. I wouldn't keep your hopes up if you want to get a copy somewhere and try to run it.
there was a sims game for flip phones that i got on my dads phone and i didnt really do much or understand the game but i remember it very well. never seen anyone else mention it but i havent really looked much into it, maybe it was super popular LOL
by chance wasn't it the sims 2 mobile? i had it on my old sony ericson. you couldn't really leave your house, and you could only meet 5 characters who invited themselves to your home, but it was pretty fun.
