Hey friends! My name is Kaylee and welcome to the Honeystead! Every day, I make it a point to "learn something old" - a valuable piece of knowledge passed down through generations. I'm thrilled to have you along for this journey, to share my discoveries, and to encourage you to embrace the beauty of slow, deliberate progress.

Fun flower evolution fact - If there are bugs that visit the flowers, they aren't causing your allergies. As a gardener and serious pollen allergy sufferer, scented, showy flowers that are pollinated by insects, birds, or mammals have small quantities of large, sticky pollen - which is not able to float around and get inhaled by us to cause a reaction. The stuff we react to are wind pollinated flowers and cones, they have tiny, inconspicuous flowers and make a huge amount of small, dusty pollen (conifer trees, grasses, some flowering plants like true ragweed or Cannabis). Don't be afraid to let your Goldenrod grow, it's an important food source for fall pollinators!
Thank you for the advice! I started my journey about 4 years ago, and still don't know much!😂 I took over my sewing/craft room for all my herbal preparations and other ingredients. It has a North window, but the cupboards have solid doors. I use my kitchen for all of the things I do. Yes! I save those kombucha bottles, too. I have gobs of them!! I think it's Brew Dr. brand. I use a couple of dehydrators, but I also have a couple of collapsible drying racks as well. For some herbs, I like to use the brown paper bag with holes punched in it. It just depends what I feel works best. I always learn something old 😉 when I listen to your videos!
Thank you so much for this! I would love to hear more about your journey with freeze drying. My wife and I are converting a school bus to travel in, wherein I fully intend to forage across the country and gather our plant allies from wild growth (sustainably, of course), and a freeze dryer seems the most natural addition to that process. 💜
I so enjoy your UTube channel!!! Thank you for sharing all your info.. What was one of your books that you started reading or using that helped you learn about medical herbs?? With the way the world is going I think herbal medicines are something we really need.
I’m so happy that I came across your channel a few months ago. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and helping me with my journey in learning about herbs. 🌿
Will you be at the Homestead conference this year. I volunteer every year. The only way I can afford to come in to see my favorite people! Like you. I was hoping to see you there I could buy some tea.
Thanks Kaylee for the video! Which brand of olive oil do you use to make massage oils with herbs? Can’t wait to learn about your new project with your mom!
Thank you for sharing your passion. I started last year, and it is slowly growing. I save amber bottles and check out the thrift stores. I either dyhrate, hang the herbs up or use a drying rack (which I love). It is full right now with herbs drying. Miss seeing your mom, but understand.
I lived in Holly Ridge as a child so Topsail is my favorite. Not too happy about how popular it has gotten, but it warms my heart when others remember it fondly. We have a camper in Sneads Ferry. I may have been there when you visited your family in Jacksonville. ❤
New to your channel and already love your energy and wisdom! I am a newbie at spinning my herbalist ways, I live in Hawaii and have been blessed to be the caretaker of 3 acres of land on the slopes of the Big Island. Native wild Mamaki has started growing so beautifully and I have started harvesting it, drying it in a repurposed screen fish dry box, and blending it and sharing the tea. Mamaki is a native Hawaiian plant used in La'au Lapa'au, ancient Hawaiian plant medicine, it is magical and so beneficial, I would love to share some with you if you don't already have some! I am enjoying all of your videos and teachings, we are in the process of building our house and will be living on our land within a year and a huge part of my vision is to create an herb garden, medicinal Hawaiian plants and so many others, and to make tinctures and oils and all the things, bee's too, there's so much to learn! I am an energy healing facilitator too and I see myself pairing tea blends or tinctures with the energy work I do for people, it all goes hand in hand and I'm so excited for this next and new part of my souls path to unfold, so thank you for sharing your wisdom your passion your light and your heart! 💚
I can’t believe you presented this today. I was debating whether to sign up for an online herbal Energetics course, if it really was the right thing to do. Your words of encouragement about helping others and one’s family really hit home. Thank you. I think that I was meant to see this.
This video was so fun! I loved learning more about the space. How do I know what my expiration date is for tincture/dried/infused oil? And where can I get your label maker? I love it. Happy to have a mom update! She is great❤
I’m new to herbalism! New here and just started watching your videos! Questions about your course.. do you have worksheets, books, other learning styles included into the course? Or is it mostly video? Also love to know about bee keeping. The amount of honey we use in our household I feel like we’d benefit from beekeeping!
I haven't been following you for very long, but I've already learned so much from you & I'm now I'm even more excited about my journey into herbalism and learning as much as I can.
Thank you Kaylee - you are such an inspiration to all of us budding herbalists! Your videos give me so many fantastic ideas and I can hardly wait til I can enroll in your herbal course too!!
Currently awaiting Helene's visit. Kind of hoping she chooses not to sit a spell & visit awhile. 😊 I'm enjoying your video while working thru your ebook bundle. Have a great day!
