I had that voltage issue on the stubby xray (18650), battery issues too where id click the button and the battery bar would jump from empty to full to low and just fluctuate every time i used it which would effect the voltage pulled, but once they made those dna conversion kits i bought that and havent had any issue with the battery or voltage drops. Just bought the xray 21 dna60c and its arriving today. Can't wait ♡.
It's terrible leaking issue. You must be a very neat person to adopt this creature.. The first thing you must do is CHANGE THE BORO tank, and of course the RBA to prevent a terrible leaking issue with the original piece. FYI, you can use the original rba deck and mix it with The Last One rba chimney. You'll get awesome flavor & throat hit.
The stubby borads dont seem that great especially lower than 0.5 ohm so much volts drop and weak bat Its a shame they stopped selling the replacement DNA 60 kit boards hoping they will sell replacement DNA 60 C kit boards then atlesrt the og 21700 stubbies can get a better board
Yeah the original stubby boards are a little disappointing. The DNA works great tho, I found the ohm readings to be way more accurate too, than most other boro mods. Would love to get the new 21700 DNA60, but I can’t afford to buy all the expensive mods everytime 😅
Works like a charm. No voltage drop, the battery holds reasonably long, resistance seems to be more accurate than on the non-DNA model. And it still looks sooo good. With the ether V2 in blue, it makes for a stunning and enjoyable combo
i have the empire and stubby as well. initially i bought the empire and it was working fine for first few months. i let them know and they sent me new PCB 2 times and it didn't help. They sent me a replacement empire mod and the issue was fixed but then appeared after a few months as well. I contacted them and they just sent me a stubby x-ray mod, but now the stubby has the same exact issue. the voltage/wattage drops by 5-15 watts. i don't understand how they can sell a product with such a big issue. now I'm stuck with 3 mods and 2 PCBs that don't work. initially i thought it could be the coils I'm using, but I'm not using anything crazy just alien or clapton coils. when i wick it and fire it, the coils just sizzle and produce zero flavor. the mod cannot accurately read the ohms either...it keeps jumping -/+ 0.05 - 0.10 ohms. the stubby also constantly has issue with not detecting the tall boy boro tank atomizer. very disappointed with all these issues....you watch these vape RU-vidrs do reviews and hype it up so much but once you buy the product and receive a lemon.
I got them in the same store I got the pulse, it’s by vandyvape themselfs I think. Includes also a button and two panels for around the screen and button.
Hey vaping melon, nice detailed review man thanks. The Bp mods pioneer rta works well on the light sabre. Actually I’m more of a dl Vaper like yourself. But the pioneer rta has loads of flavour & has impressed me when I don’t want big clouds. I’m running 2mm air pin @ .6 to.7 ohms mtl alien 2.5 Id @ 25-30 watts all day vaping on the light saber 21700. Cheers from vape starved 🇬🇸.
Appreciate your videos, Helped me decide on a new pod. mine was like 7 yrs. old and I was blown away with these new systems especially the xros. Flavor is off the hook, as good if not better than some of my best rba's.
I understand. Our goal was to create a highly saturated vape, but certain e-liquids or draw techniques can sometimes result in more saturation than intended. The PXPRO version, however, offers significant improvements. Happy to hear you liked the flavour I hope you'll give it another try. David - SXmini
I haven’t had a go at the pxpro. If I can get my hands on them I‘ll happy test them and do an update if things change. I would love to get it back in everyday use as it is great in flavour and coil life. And it looks good too, would have wanted on with the black cats on it, but wasn’t available.
I sent my Stubby Xray 21700 to them after they sent me a new PCB bored, battery cog, and the top plate. Started happening 2 weeks into buying it. Once I installed them the same issues came back but not as bad. They asked me to ship my Stubby in for repairs. I’m still waiting for it to get back to me. Sad part is I bought it a few weeks before the DNA60c smh. I’ve tried looks for the conversion kit but I can’t find it anywhere. But even if I did it sucks paying 160 USD for a device then spending 100 USD to fix it. I guess we will see what they say once they fix or replace it. It would be nice if they replaced it with the Stubby xray DNA60c instead 😅. Thank you for bringing this up. I haven’t seen a RU-vid video talking about these issues just Reddit posts.
So sorry to hear that. This just sucks. I really hope they can fix it. It is weird, like a hit and miss. You see people having no issues at all, some that were able to fix them with replacement parts, wome with DNA conversion kits, and for some nothing at all helped. I think a lot of reviewers don’t use a device that long and that much for it to show up, because they constantly have to test new devices. I will always be honest and tell you if something doesn’t work or isn’t good.
@@VapingMelon Thanks I hope they can find a way to fix it. I like the device in general but it sucks having to wait weeks after recently buying it. I ended giving my older mods away when I got the stubby. So now on disposables 😑
I own many boro mods and much prefer the 21700s just for better battery life yes they end up larger mods I Own original 21 stubby then the DNA 60 kit. Now a new x-ray 21 stubby is out with DNA 60 . Also own the monarchy stubby dna 60. it ups the price but the board don't cut off when mod gets warm unlike others even other high end boards like dicodes mods that have the overheat protection kicks in or long draw protection kicks in when chain vaping. I Own 3 dani mods with dicodes fl80 chips Plus boro mod with dicodes v3 chip. I love the dani mods but boros heat up fast So best to go with DNA 60 chip once you install the international firmware and setup your internal res on the mod the 60w chip is great you have options to set battery cut off from anywhere from 3.5v cut off to 2.5v So you can squeeze extra life out of battery but will reduce batteries life's rechargability hence why I prefer the 21700s Samsung s50 5000mah is a great all rounder cell
@@123benley They sent it back no dna60 but it works better then before. But still changing out batteries often. I ended up getting the new Stubby 21 xray Dna60c last Friday. It’s night and day difference with the issues I had on the normal stubby 21 so far.
Thanks for covering this. Im still on the fence about picking one up. The insert is what has me nervous because im almost never cautious with coil height
Hight isn’t really an issue, cut them to 5mm and you‘re set. If you put them right over the airflow hole like I showed, it shouldn’t touch the side either. It is really easy to build, I never had an issue with the insert. I dont know of any bigger RDAs that don’t have an insert to be honest.

After the new boards do you still get a voltage drop? But just alot better? I dont think you can completely get rid of it because of it being a welted free board
It is at the same level as when the devices were new. It is noticeable when the batteries get low. I put it like this: Other mods will say the battery is at 30% and you will notice the voltage drop. With these devices you will also notice the drop at 30%, but other mods will put the battery at maybe 45-50%. That’s the best way I can explain it. It’s not a deal breaker, just a little annoying. With the DNA boards I noticed none of that tho. Right to the last drop, it works fine. Just as any other mod, maybe even a bit better, because the DNA seems to compensate the voltage drop of the battery better.

Ich find ihn immernoch hammer, mir fehlt einfach der passende verdampfer dafür. Hab heute einen gefunden, der evtl was sein könnte. Mit den 60W reichts für meine alltags verdampfer leider nicht. (Sind fast alle dual-coil, da bin ich schnell bei 80-100W) Die paar single Coiler die passen würden für mein dampf verhalten, sind dann einfach wieder soo riesig, dass es nicht passt. (Vapor Giant o.Ä.) Wenn dir die Form zusagt und die Power aucht passt, dann kann ich dir ihn empfehlen. Ich bin echt auf der suche, weil ich meinen wieder verwenden will.
I have noticed that the wooden sleeve discolors (i.e. it stains quite a bit) when you clean the device with wet wipes, which is sometimes necessary. Does anyone know what to do about this?
I was thinking heat shrink might be good ,( same as a battery wrap just different id) it’s cheap & you could customise the colour. Hope this helps, peace.
