Like others here I had the problem of the fx applying to both the Fill and Stroke fields. The trick was to use the Appearance window and select "Contents", which gives you separate fx controls over Stroke and Fill. With that I was able to duplicate the effect from the video. Thanks!
Hi, sorry for late reply. This Action Script is free version. So there is cons using a free version, it probably "might" not compatible with latest cc. But at least, it help in solving part of our daily problem. And sorry again that I can't provide a better version Action Script. So I hope this video "at least" help you solve some part of your job. If it occur frequently, just restart your PS. Or change mode to RGB/CMYK. Make sure create a backup Original eg. File A is Backup, and File B is exactly like A, but for halftone only. And use the File B for action script and after it done, select first layer copy to File A, and make selection of it and copy layer original under it based on halftone layer that you select. In simple explanation Halftone Layer top(Ctrl+click thumbnail top layer), click layer original Bottom(tap Ctrl+J) for duplicate. Now you can hide top layer. *Don't forget, original File A & File B, the resolution is always 300 (fixed) and the artwork size is around A3 size, much better.
Love your Video quick question how would you you make it transparent and just have the black outline? Tried just giving it no fill but it was completely black
Thanks for a great tutorial. Quick question: the strokes on each of my letters are overlapping. For example, if I type the word 'groovy' as you did, the stroke around that "r" is spilling over onto the "o" next to it. I tried turning the letters into shapes and then a compound path, but doing this removed all the fill color and turned the whole thing into a blob:) Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
0:56, Hi, I wonder, does your FILL tab column is same as mine?. Fill column at Top, Stroke column at bottom... Maybe your problem is your Black Stroke column at Top... You can move that column, just hold left click and drag it move it at bottom...
Actually it not that hard to understand. 1. Design 2. Cut line 3. Arrange your layout with design and cut line in separate layer in Ai. 4. Hide cut layer, export design JPG. 5. Hide design layer, export cut line JPG. 6. Open silhouette, drag cut line JPG, center the artboard size. Click trace cut line. 7. Replace Cut line JPG, with design JPG. 8. Done. You can start cut.
I'm a little confused, was this not possible with silhouette studio or something? Sorry it that's silly question! I have a Cricut so I use Design Space. But I watched the video and was curious! Cute sticker though! ❤️
Sorry, I'm not really familiar with software you mention above. Every software have their on trick. Actually the arrangement for sticker can be done in Silhouette Studio. But Silhouette Studio so lag and slow when drag the artwork. So I prefer using Adobe Illustrator to arrange the sticker layout.
Hi Starverz. Did you ever consider using Silhouette Connect plugin for Illustrator? This allows you to work directly from Illustrator, saving a lot of steps. No need to use Silhouette Studo.
