Hey! I’m Alan and this is my channel where I’ll be sharing how-to videos as well as various updates on restoration projects I’m involved with. I am focusing on WWII military jeeps right now, but have done many different types of vehicles and have a passion for all things classic cars!

I'm on my 3rd neck fitting and feeling totally defeated. I started with a chrome neck like yours, but it leaked even with no pressure. Folks convinced me to throw it out-that the chrome necks are notorious leaders. I did and purchased two more with same results. As soon as the coolant rises to level of tstat housing, it dribbles out as if it's not even sealed. Just tried 3rd housing and same thing. '36 Chevy pickup, 350 crate motor, Edelbrock alum intake. What am I doing wrong??? 😢
Awesome video! I love how you brought it back without disturbing your family modifications. I did a similar thing with my 1943 GPW. I do the static displays and parades, but it’s most fun just driving the dirt roads and trails. Spot on!
I had friend loose his life in the 1950’s because his car fell on him due to a concrete block supporting it failed. It looks like you are using solid blocks which probably are ok. Jack stands are the best.
I've never ever used gasket maker on anything.. I find it pointless you shouldn't half to use it if you know how to put a gasket on. Unless you like cleaning up the left behind mess and chance it going in your engine
DeWalt sucks do not ever buy the DeWalt dcmx 601 it's a very piss poor belt pulley system very stupid design I'll never buy another and plus it's not even made by DeWalt
Great video! I was about to try your fix when at the last second I tried plan B. I have a 1996 Ford F150, Four, 4 x 4. The drivers door latch wouldn’t open the door from the inside. I used 3-IN-1 Lock Dry Lube and it did the trick! I sprayed it in up all over around the doorhandle inside. It works like a charm now.
Greetings from Northern Ireland...really enjoyed this video. I recently bought a Hotchkiss M201 Jeep. Hoping to get it home from England in August after some WW2 adaptions. Know very little about Jeeps so found this a great insight. Many thanks...Mike
Why would you take some needle nose pliers to turn the piston in on the electric brake motor and just put the car in brake service mode which retracts the gear in the electronic motor? Then you can just push the piston back in. You did it the hard way.
Good luck!!! Hope it still works!! I bought the same one in October of 2022. Put an hour meter on it, and have used it for 1.1 hours, and it threw a rod. 😢
Just a suggestion, if you remove the fill level plug it will vent that way while refilling. Also you’ll know when it’s full and not waste expensive fluid. It’s faster filling and you won’t have fluid splashing back at you and all over the car. Or just back the funnel out a smidge so it can draw air from around the neck of the funnel.
My 44 Willys mb had the rear fenders reshape by a chubby owner but your is a bit neater than mine ,it was cut and welded and reshaped with a large hammer ,I’m going to replace both of them with new ones. I’ve enjoyed your rebuild videos thanks from Scotland
Greetings! Those rear fenders and driving position was certainly meant for smaller drivers when they were first produced. I can see why many made the adjustment. Good luck with your repairs!
I might recommend disconnecting the battery, but I otherwise didn’t disconnect anything. I just made sure the master cylinder reservoir cap was off, which allowed for the fluid to got back into that area once the caliper piston is compressed.
Clean workspace. Simple, yet thorough explanation. I appreciate the time you took for this. Excellent job 👍 Sending you some nitrile gloves for Christmas!
Those waxes do not provide up to a year of protection. You can tell if the wax is actually still there when you wash the car. If the water is flat and not beading, then theres no more protection left on the car. DO NOT apply this once a year and forget about it. The turtle wax super hard shell wax is at max offers a couple of months of durability depending weather conditions and whether the car is parked inside or outside.
