cool music man, im still learning guitar and i wanted to ask, how do you come up with ideas for music? like, using ur voice to do the rythms or using scales on the guitar or something else yk? cause idk much about music theory and i just cant locate the sounds that i think of on my guitar yk? i dont have that kind of experience yet. greeting from brasil
Hello from Pennsylvania! Inspiration for me really comes from a variety of sources. Sometimes it comes from my hands moving on their own, sometimes from a melody in my head that I attempt to put on the instrument (with mixed success), sometimes it comes from wanting to try a certain technique or 'clever' music theory idea. The most important thing for me is to give myself time to write. I try to spend at least an hour a day in my backyard with the sole intention of writing music. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. But it's still good practice regardless. Tunes such as this one are actually part of a project of mine in which I'm drawing inspiration from nature. So I take video of nature and watch it back later and just see what comes out of my hands. It's been a lot of fun!
@@liamgaliano ooohhh okay! i just applied what you said kind of, already made some cool songs! i just enjoy creating for myself and friends for now, but i feel like once i get a greater grasp at creating whatever i want without limiting my self with my lack of knowledge, ill post some stuff. thank you for the advice man, it really helped me!
true that - I think the common issue with bass solos is if the bass is playing melodically in the upper register, you lose the low end groove! I love playing with keys players for that reason - they can support me better than guitarists
thank you! You know I wasn't even thinking about time signatures - that's a fun thing about two-hand tap. 'contemplative' is a great word - I think I'll run with that and flesh it out into a full tune
You've got to be good to open for BBS. I've seen them three times and each time, the opener was on point. First was The Temperance Movement, second was Robert Jon and the Wreck and third was Duane Betts and Palmetto Motel.
thanks, man! Yeah it's been a ride trying to do both. Your tone is much warmer and really works perfectly with the instrument. Mine is a little more of an unexpected pairing haha. Probably better fits a heavy-handed acoustic guitar (folk punk style) but the bass is my passion, so I'm dead-set on making it work
The Kapsule is heavier, more protective, and has wheels. It has straps but I find them less useful than the Kapsulite's. The Kapsule also has more storage. In my mind, if you're looking to check the bass on a plane, definitely go Kapsule. If you need the extra storage space go Kapsule. But if you just want a heavy-duty gig bag that can fit the essentials (cable, tuner, iPad), Kapsulite will be the lighter and less bulky option
Jayne Cobb: "Serenity's" muscle, a regular source of money for his family, who wears an "I am a Badass, don't mess with me" hat. (He gets more than 7% of the loot, these days, too.;)
Hey thanks, Seth! I can't quite remember because it was a couple years ago that I recorded it, but I believe I hand-wrote a chart. I'll see if I can find it!
Hey Seth, I was able to find my chart - sorry it's pretty sloppy and hard to read. Happy holidays! ~~~ drive.google.com/file/d/19KZihv9OzTH9myIWUZBJKHnyWIL-DaWk/view?usp=sharing
GruvGear does have great customer service though so I'd definitely shoot them a message to ask - if you give the exact bass they can probably confirm or deny fitting
How do you think the kapsulite exterior would stand air travel, and being gate checked ? Does it feel very strong, or does it give when you apply pressure to it ? Like if a suitcase were to fall on it. Thanks for the review. Best real world review I’ve seen thus far.
I personally would be concerned checking it. It feels safe enough thrown in a trunk with gear, but I wouldn't trust it in the bottom of an airplane. That being said, I also have a Kapsule and that I would trust being checked. Plus it has wheels and more storage for clothes so it can really be your whole suitcase. After using this kapsulite for over a month now, I would say I wish it had a smidge more storage space. I can really only barely fit the essentials for most gigs. The kapsule has no issues fitting everything. But I still use the kapsulite for most gigs because it is so small and light. And still sturdy, just maybe not for an airplane in my opinion
Don't check this in! This is semi-hard only. Only good for public transpo - bus and train where you carry it, good for bumps here and there. Bump to the door, bump to other bags. It can definitely stand that.
There he is. Long time no see. I love this woven message concept. This morning I was driving and heard the Jackson Browne lyric; "Where the ads take aim and lay their claim to the heart and soul of the spender" that I'd never heard before, sadly B$ness as use-you-all. I intended to be at the meadery Saturday but got short on time. I've been running into Bjorn at Hell in a Bucket. Keep layin' it down young man.
Awesome performance! Have you heard of Sessions Live? I think you will be a great fit here. This is a big opportunity for your talents. Please check your email and a DM on Instagram regarding the details. 🔥🔥
The crew's spread out in a couple different states right now, but maybe we could do something with everyone recording from their own home studios - I'll talk to the lads.
