I create Pokémon videos, mainly challenges, shiny hunting, and tutorials. My priorities with gaming are fun, community, and growth 🪷
About my previous RU-vid channels: My apologies for leaving suddenly (had a gaming and a skate channel). I was too caught up in things I was going through. I really appreciate anyone who supported me, though 🤝
Hopefully this helps! You can link other Nintendo accounts to other profiles/users if you want. (Like if two people share a console.) First log in with the profile with relevant Home data, then swap to the profile with game save data (if it’s not the one with your main save file data, don’t link any Nintendo account to it)
Hmm, didn’t notice a profile option in home, wonder if that’s new. Wish they wouldn’t make things so confusing, like getting raids in SV without a paid account through mystery gift.
Good point, maybe it’s new! For real, it’s too confusing, with the accounts, profiles, primary/secondary consoles, etc. Raids too. From what I understand, a paid membership is needed to join others’ raids, and there are requirement for unlocking solo 7-star Mystery Gift ones (which they could make more clear in the game)
I did manip my own shiny mudkip which was 10000 advances in unfortunately and as far as i know every odd is pesudo random and frame dependant based on your trainer id and secret id. so as far as i know the chances is random for everyone. is it different for the jap version?
I understand that perspective too. It did feel a bit too easy to get tons of Rare Candies. I’ve pretty much stuck to cloning resources for Emerald (except for backup Master Balls and shiny Smeargle). I appreciate you commenting and sharing your thoughts!
Really cool to see where the name came from! The first mention of shinies I can find is in the gold and silver complete Pokédex issue of gold and silver. They don’t call them shinies but do mention the existence of them.
Thanks, I really appreciate the comment! That’s interesting about that mentioning them too, I’d love to check that out. I remember the FRLG guidebook showed a few shinies like Oddish, Psyduck, and Ponyta (but called them ‘alternate colored’ or something like that)
And people don’t even realize it’s still REALLY lucky to even get a shiny doing a challenge like this at full odds at least. Congrats on the free shiny since u already wanted to do the challenge but still congrats
This vid didn’t help me at all but I wish I saw it before I found my first two emerald shiny starters Bc one moron said the battery needs to be working so I thought I wasted time doing srs on my Japanese copy but I ended up getting a shiny on that dry battery copy literally a day before my birthday recently
I’m glad you found the shiny starters eventually! Which ones did you find? Sounds like great timing with the one on the Emerald with the dry battery too ⭐️ Also to be fair to the other person, shiny hunting in Emerald is more complicated than other games (they were probably thinking of Ruby/Sapphire)
@@shinycollector7 right I get what ur saying about the dry battery situation and also I got female mudkip and a male torchik both in copies of emerald but one was on a dead battery copy but I don’t think that affects anything shiny hunting wise
Sweet, and you did it in the Japanese version too which is perfect b/c I just bought one on eBay 😂 I completely can relate with the internal conflict with what doesn't feel right in games. But like you I'm begining to value time more. Plus it's a single player game anyway. Lastly too many times in the past I'd just PKHex items in. Lately I've found it more fun restricting myself to anymore PC usage for Pokemon. Great video!
Yeah, I refuse to clone myself, but I completely understand people who do it. It's a smart little way to save time on grinding that the developers overlooked. I say go buck wild with it
You know, I think it does actually work on mythicals! But you just can’t enter them at the desk before the reset (I can’t test it yet due to planning to shiny hunt Mew lol)
@shinycollector7 It would definitely be cool if it did. I'm just worried about time since I need 4 shiny Deoxys because we don't know when Bank will shut down.
I really appreciate that! 🤝 I must have kept my style from when I used to create Pokémon content. (I’m impressed by the current style people have, but it’s foreign to me.) Thanks for subscribing too!
I encountered the uncatchable zigzagoon I’m using a stopwatch and got it at 34.22 seconds I started sr around 34 seconds again but only keep encountering the shiny zigzagoon but you said to wait 2 seconds after from when i encountered zigzagoon so im gonna go ahead and try 36 seconds
I’ve heard the starter’s frame is 2.35-2.38 seconds away from Zigzagoon, so I think you’ll have success waiting 36.6 seconds or close to that. Best of luck! 🍀 And thank you for subscribing!
@@shinycollector7Bro I just got off of work turned my GameBoy on and not even kidding 16 minutes into the hunt of trying to hit that frame I got shiny mudkip ✨✨✨thanks for the tips !!
I love how you got Japanese Pokémon games ! I’m currently waiting on my Japanese leafreen and emerald that.m I bought from an eBay auction for 60 dollars . The English copies these days are insane , but I’ve played the gen 3 games a lot as a kid so playing it in Japanese won’t bother me that much .
That’s awesome to hear about the Japanese games you’re getting! I bought most of mine from eBay too. For real, the prices for some of the older English Pokémon games are ridiculous I bet you’ll find it very doable to play the Japanese ones! Took me some time to recognize the different items in Ruby/Sapphire (since there’s no image next to each), but after that I was good Thanks so much for the comment!
I’m glad someone else owns all the games in Japanese too, American Pokémon games are way too much… Also, dedication! I wanna start shiny hunting too, especially in Emerald.
For real! I was drawn to the Japanese games due to the much better prices, wanting to learn the language, and wanting games to use for the Masuda Method I really appreciate the support too! I find it fun to shiny hunt in Emerald. I plan to do more content around that. Best of luck if you go for any shinies soon 🍀
@@shinycollector7 Thank you! Same, I’ve been learning Japanese at a crawl the past five years, and I think immersing oneself in the language is the quickest way to learn. While watching your video I paused so many times to go and check a word lol. Also, I still have never found any shinies, I have only hacked legenderies from the wondertrade.
I really appreciate that!! Psyched to hear you enjoyed it! How long did you shiny hunt? I did a good amount from 2008-2015 and then really got back into it about a year ago
@@shinycollector7 I shiny hunted a lot back in high school during Black 2 and X. So like 2013-2016. Not for too long but it was an interesting way to kill time to say the least. Your videos on the topic are definitely inspiring me lol
Thanks for watching! I really appreciate the support on this video! Feel free to subscribe if you enjoyed it. And of course a shoutout to AbsolBlogsPokemon for the inspiration! Emerald can have Synchronize stuff with shiny odds, only due to RSE'S broken RNG, but It'd be worth looking into it yourself. For future I'd suggest biting the bullet and training a Smeargle for Belly drum, Soak (if they're grass they're immune to spore in 6>) False Swipe and insert move here as sleep/freeze are a noticable increase for capture over Paralysis (and old gen fact in gen 2, paralysis doesn't do anything for capture!) as well as assuring PP isn't used.
For sure! You’re talking about how using Synchronize in Emerald can make it easier to hit a shiny frame that has that nature? I did some RNG manipulation in Emerald many years ago, and Synchronize definitely did help with that Great point. Sleep is definitely the way to go. Interesting about paralysis not doing anything for capture odds in Gen 2! As for the Heatran capture, I’ll admit I wasn’t that prepared! I was too eager to hunt it 😆 But I’m in the process of training up more Smeargles. I just got Pokémon X redownloaded so I can finally get one in Alpha Sapphire I really appreciate the comment!
Zig candies are the best. I use meowth in FRLG and use only rare candies to level shinies for my living dex when needed. Don’t have a good reason just wanted them in “mint condition” as much as possible.
They really are. Pickup is fun in FRLG too! And I completely get that. I usually use Rare Candies at specific times, like to evolve a Pokémon that is one level away or to get a shiny up to 100 when it’s nearly there
Congrats about those shinies! Would it be possible to re-download the pokemon games on the new device? As far as I'm aware, you should be able to reinstall them, assuming the original owner didn't have a Nintendo Network ID associated either the console. It would be under the "redownload" option in the eShop if it is indeed possible.
Thank you! It was great to get them. And I thought a factory reset would wipe the eShop settings, but it didn’t and I was able to redownload Pokémon X tonight thanks to you!
@@shinycollector7 That's awesome news! A while back I had gotten a few faulty 2DS models to Frankenstein together and I was interested in whether it was possible to do. I couldn't manage to get the redownloads to be successful (probably because I modded the console), but when I heard you mention losing access to X and Crystal, I figured it was worth a shot to suggest! After writing the original comment, I subscribed and made a note to myself to check later to see if my comment had reached you and proven successful. I'm glad it helped you out, and I thoroughly enjoy you sharing your journey to overcome various challenges! It's not everybody's cup of tea, but I like the combination of hunt and story. Congratulations on your efforts, both in-game and in the real world, and I'm looking forward to seeing your future endeavors! Wishing you the best!
I’m so glad you suggested it! A great reminder for me to not be so quick to assume something won’t work. And I like the idea of combining parts from different consoles! I really appreciate the support!! 🤝 Means a lot!
Hi ShinyCollector7 - nice seeing you back hunting! Random question - back in the day there is a video from D/P/Pt radar chaining. It was said that you successfully chained 201 Bidoof 😂 Do you have any recollection of this? Just wondering if this is the highest known radar chain that was ever completed? I've been getting into the Poke Radar a lot again recently after like 12 years and the highest chains have sparked my curiosity! Good luck on your future hunts, love the Darkrai btw 😎
Hey, I’m glad to be back! So cool you found my channel. Oh yes, I remember that! 😆 I feel like someone had a slightly higher Voltorb chain. But you got me thinking now, I wonder what the record is 🤔 That’s so cool you’re doing some Radar chaining! I might do the same soon too. I really appreciate the support! Best of luck on your hunts or other projects you’re doing 🍀
@@shinycollector7 Really a higher Voltorb chain huh? Might do some digging now 🤣 Idky but I guess over the years I feel like high chains got pushed to the side in favor of shinies, so want to give chaining itself some love and see if I can make a 200-300+ chain. It gets very RNG dependent at that point, but patience is a virtue I guess lolol. If I find anything out about the Voltorb chain you mentioned, I will let you know. So far the highest I've seen documented online in any fashion with a specific number was your 201 Bidoof in the original games, and in BDSP I've seen a high chain of 133 Ralts someone did about a year ago (but who knows there may be one higher out there, its hard to search with YT, reddit, twitter, discord, etc so many places shinies get posted). Will keep you posted - and best of luck yourself!! 🍀🍀 edit/update: found the Voltorb chain you mentioned. Looks like 211: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HF8zbKkdw2o.htmlsi=sauqsbs9gJv-cGMd Interestingly, the same person has a video where they encountered 3 shiny patches off of 1 radar reset 😳
So true, it does seem like most are more focused on getting shinies than a high Radar chain. And you’re right, the RNG will have to be on our side, much like with finding a shiny ✨ That’s awesome you found the video! Now I know what to aim for. Definitely a high chain. And 3 shiny patches at the same time is wild 🫨 I saw one person find 3 at once in BD/SP too, so only two times I’ve heard of that happening. I’ve never found 2 at once but always wanted to. Or even a shiny at a chain of 0 (advances it to 1), in a shiny or non-shiny patch
@@shinycollector7 3 in one is absolutely wild, even 2 shiny patches at once would be really cool, and definitely huntable imo. I was just looking for my first shiny patch and just got it with Vulpix today after a chain of 39. My chain ended at 45. Prior to this last time I chained was back in 2013, never got a shiny patch before or made to 40. I did have a shiny Zubat break a chain of Ponyta in a non-shiny patch once however. But now the journey to a 300 chain begins 😂
@@RichieL1991 Agreed completely! I’d consider hunting for 2 at once. Could take awhile but sounds doable Awesome about the Vulpix chain! I know sometimes it can take many chains to get one to 40 due to them randomly breaking At least the game compensated you for the chain ending ✨ I bet that was a huge surprise! I’ve never had a shiny break my chain but did find a shiny Miltank and Rhydon in non-shiny patches before
Definitely. And that’s dedication, hatching that many eggs, and in LG too. I give you credit for that! I hope you find the shiny soon. I bet it’ll be so cool to finally see it hatch!
It’s incredible! I found a few randomly before it, but ever since I completed my first 1/8192 shiny hunt (Treecko in Sapphire), I was hooked. I appreciate the comment!
It all comes down to personal preference, but I like the 07700 better! Looks awesome. I usually go for IDs with just two different numbers like that or palindrome ones
I really appreciate the support 🤝 Awesome you found my new channel! I don’t plan to since I only have a few of the older videos. But I hope people enjoy the new ones!
@@shinycollector7 I have been watching you since the pre-gen 4 days when you were making vids about Emerald's broken RNG. I was sad to see you leave, but am definitely glad you're back!
Wow, thanks so much! Ah, the good ol’ Emerald broken RNG videos. And I wish I’d approached things differently (kept the channel or at least explained why I was leaving), but all I can do is move forward! I appreciate the kind words!
