Have people in the OCG revisited the format(s) after Tearlaments was released before the Ishizu cards came out? In the TCG some people theorise that out of Spright and Tear, Tear should have been the better deck and I'm curious what OCG players have found in further testing.
All the same uninspired losers play Kashtira, Yubel, and Snake Eyes, none of those players has the creative talent or skill to assemble anything even remotely original. Fighting the same Meta decks obviously net-decked no less is downright the most boring BS this game has to offer. Fighting the same boring Meta decks 2 out of 3 matches is incredibly Autistic.
2:06 Engraver and Tract are no longer starters with Beatrice banned. Fiendsmith is completely cut off from the Snake-Eye engine now, it's only purpose for the deck is as an extender now. Yubel will become a lot better once OCG gets Aerial Eater and Necroquip Princess imported.

I don't quite get why people like this banlist. Isn't this just a huge buff for Ryzeal, which is already the dominant deck. This basically nerfs all other semi viable decks, while leaving the best deck almost untouched.
Ryzeal has this downside where the more of the meta it takes up, the more people will maindeck power Spells like Book of Eclipse and Dark Ruler No More that clean Ryzeal’s clock. Now that Snake-Eye Fiendsmith is gone, those cards are going to be more viable.
Is snake eye still playable? probably not pure but in an engine deck for sure. will ocg players play these engine decks if there are so many maxx c, multchummies, shifter, ... in the game? probably not. But I definitely wouldnt dismiss snake eye that fast if they still have everything, even though its all at 1.
-Beatrice didn't need to be banned. Konami has 8 or so years to errata her effect to only send Burning Abyss cards but never did. Konami allowed Beatrice to become a problem to sell product. -Sanctifire doesn't have to be banned. They need to ban any monster that turn skips the opponent since those cards always have the potential to ruin the game for a format or two. We never know when Konami will simply print a card that summons one of them for free. Without the Puppet/Jowgen/Ido/Barrier Statue cards Sanctifire just becomes a nice extender for the Branded deck. If anything it could use an errata too. I don't understand why YGO players are always so quick to suggest bans to problematic cards when there are other solutions. -Maxx C shouldn't be at anything but 3 until Konami decides to pull back on the Special Summon spam card design where an archetype consists of a 1 card engine that does the work of 3/4 cards and the rest of the archetype searching said 1 card engine every turn. Whether Maxx C is at 0,1, 2, or 3 means nothing since the meta typically doesn't stray far from the expected deck(s) being the best in the format. Konami should have never printed the Mulcharmy cards.
Maxx C is probably going to stay at 2 for a long while for a few reason : 1. Sell the Mullcharmy, they are the new lesser form of Maxx C and if your deck has little room for HT then why buy the more expensive Mullcharmy when Maxx C is still the superior version? 2. Tactical Try deck is just released with 2 Maxx C on Common, the tactical try deck is a good product and damn thing sold out pretty fast not to mention the release window where there is a tactical try deck only tournament. Maxx C is reprinted to hell and back so i think Konami has no qualms about putting maxx C to 2
I play Memento in OCG, and it’s definitely a good deck after tons of supports. You can make Savage with Chorozo in OCG, so you’re less afraid of S/T board breakers. You can make Herald of Mirage Lights in TCG, but that’s a far worse option. I don't think it would reach the level of being "one of the best in OCG" though.
Cool vid! How good is centur-ion in OCG btw? You guys have the turn skipper synchro dragon and even then I don't see it turning up as much as I would expect. Maybe it's too weak against fair handtraps, though I thought their new lv8 synchro kinda fixed that. Thanks!
Wdym by turn skipper synchro dragon? Calamity is banned much earlier in OCG. Centur-Ion isn't bad actually. It plays around many good handtraps like fuwaross well. However, it becomes worse since Bystials are less powerful when Fiendsmith is hit, and it's not compatible with Dominus Impulse. The non-engine power decreases a lot, but it doesn't get any direct hit, so it should stay at about Tier 2 after the banlist.
Most tournaments I enter are Best of 3, although we sometimes have casual Best of 1 locals if they're not trying to take it too seriously. There might also be Best of 1 bigger tournaments if they are extremely massive, but I haven't entered one of those before.
It's a pretty normal list. The Fiendsmith ratios are just 3 Lurrie, 1 Man, 1 Girl, 1 Tractus. The extra deck is the full package including Moon. If you build a normal Purrely deck and try to add all of those, they all barely fit, but I don't know if it's still playable because there's no Beatrice to send Delicious anymore.
finally someone who agrees that branded is just puppet lock turbo. any branded player who tells you most of their wins dont come from puppet, or they like to try winning other ways before puppet are just straight up lying. branded i think literally cannot compete at the meta level without puppet.

There's other floodgate monsters that people can use, it's just that puppet is by far the strongest one you can give to your opponent. As long as you can give your opponent that monster with sanctifire, branded will probably still be doing well

@@EnfieldXu its a 1.5 card combo, the combo gives you 3 cards and an omni if it resolves successfully . You will not have ash everytime they start with azamina
@@MaliEndz Yes, their opponent might not have ash everytime they start with azamina but the meta contender with Ryzeal and Maliss (even Tenpai if people still try to play it) can main deck 2 shifters and 2 maxx c with 3 fuwaross. It hurts both Azamina and Snake-Eye line so bad. Tenpai and Maliss also has Dominus Impulse (4th, 5th, 6th copies of Ash that stops Azamina line on the Sacred Azamina if they decided to start from Deception)
Yeah, it's a bit of a tragedy because I like everything else Branded does, and I think the Quem, Lost, Mirrorjade boards are cool. I'm always a fan of bigger engine decks. It's just that none of that ever matters because I'm getting locked every game I don't draw Called By.
ok i just thought maxx c is maxx c and will never be touched. this means konami actually acknowledges that yugioh cannot continue to exist the way the ocg is handling the banlist. that also means new product releases should be appropriately different with no "but we have maxx c to stop it"

@@Hollo1001 Possibly, but it seems strange because Konami doesn't directly sell singles to players. Fuwaross is just Rare in the box, and the influential high rarity Azamina Engine is hit (since it requires more copies of Diabellstar to be consistent).
To be fair... the TCG and OCG banlists feel like 2 halves seperated by Time and Space. They're were both suffering essentially the same format, but each addressed different aspects of it in a different order and now they're finally unifying. I would not be surprised next TCG Banlist when the TCG has Rage of the Abyss and the Deck Build pack if Sinful Spoils Azamina and Yubel to get their Kneecaps busted there too.
What is your opinion about Ryzeal? because it uses too many handtraps and in tournaments it is one of the most used decks. Maybe the hit to bonfire weakened it very slightly but what do you expect from that deck?
@@genaromendoza4758 Bonfire is supposed to be the slap-on-the-wrist treatment. The deck is too new to hit directly, but it should be recognized that the deck can do a lot even though they're locked under Rank 4s for the most part (which really isn't a drawback for the pool of the most well known monsters come from). Yes, the deck is able to use hand traps including Shifter while also essentially having one-card starters, so it can definitely be a threat and their boss (Deadanader) along with the field spell could be enough to hinder the opponent and if we're not including other Xyz like Abyss Dweller.
The thing is the eventual ban of Maxx C would imply the banlist becomes much like TCG (which I find is garbage tbh, the banlist and format for too many reasons). Should they get to ban the roach, then FTK, FTK burn, and floodgate solitaire decks should exist no more and said decks would have to be harshly hit. And no, mulch-watever handtraps are not replacements for the roach. In short, if degenerate going 1st decks exist so should Maxx C at 3, and I'm NOT a fan of the card.
This argument doesn’t work. If your opponent is on an ftk, having 3 Maxx C in your deck doesn’t stop it. You still only draw it 1/3 games, and even if you draw it, you still need to draw into handtraps that stop the ftk. When the Gimmick Puppet FTK was unhit in ocg, you’d still go for it under Maxx C, since the field spell insulated you from most the handtraps they’d draw. On top of all that, the fact you have to play the “Maxx C tax” (Maxx c + cbtg + crossout + ash) yourself in every deck means that frequently you’re having to run non-engine that is much worse at stopping FTKs, and the fact you’re opponent is running those cards mean that your whether your Maxx C resolves is basically a coinflip. Ash would be played in most decks regardless, but if Maxx c were banned, you would be able to replace them with handtraps that are also able to stop FTKs. If your opponent opens the ftk and your hand is maxx c + called by, and your opponent has Ash for your Maxx c, they get to do their nonsense, whereas if you were able to replace those cards with, say, droll+nib, you probably end up winning that game.
@@ELMONOLOCO-ko3fy My concern with the opinion is that all those ftk decks still exist in the ocg. But in the tcg, we took care of them. But for as long as maxx c exists, those ftks will just keep existing under the radar. You want them hit, hit the thing masking their existence
Tcg is objectively better than the ocg , everything wrong about the tcg exists in the ocg also , except a few things like gimmick puppet lock and ftk still existing . But overall there's barely any comparison , maxx c is the most objectively toxic card to ever exist , and it being allowed in the ocg makes it garbage by default . It doesn't balance anything i'm not even gonna bother with that argument since every pro maxx c argument has been debunked 100 times over .
What matters is my Infernoid deck didn't change at all from this and is still strong. I feel OCG is just experimenting again with Maxx C. This hasn't been the first time they did this though.
I'm realizing I made this video too hastily, and I no longer believe everything I said now that I've thought about it a little bit more. Specifically, I think my initial impression of Yubel was incorrect. The way I evaluate a deck is: 1) How does it play into high-impact hand traps? (Maxx C, Shifter, Droll, Purrelia, Fuwaross, Nib) 2) How much non-engine can it play? 3) Is the deck weak to breakers? 4) Is it possible to win going second post-board? And Yubel is still a Deck that has comparative advantages vs the field in criteria 2 and 3. It is also similarly bad at going second post board. However, it does lose to every single high-impact hand trap except Nib, and it is weaker to Nib now that you might have to use the Phantom to extend. Although, if the meta shifts to being more fair hand traps, I could see that being good for Yubel since it does play more extenders than most other decks. I could still see Yubel topping the next format. My initial comment about it being unplayable was too harsh, but I do think it probably has no chance of being the best deck of the format.
The problem for you ocg players is that you dont have aerial eater which means fs is not even full combo anymore... I'm pretty sure Yubel is gonna have to sit this one out
@@saito853 It's not dead dead, more like it's unlikely for it to be the best. 3 Beckoning 3 Spirit Gates 3 Monkey D Lotus 4 Knightmare Throne is still 13 starters. It's just way worse into hand traps because it's harder for it to extend with such a neutered FS engine and only one Phantom. The full board is still pretty nuts.
@@Flame082 Beckoning/Gates are not real starters, you can't bridge from Fiendsmith to Yubel engines without Beatrice and Aerial Eater, it's a huge blow to the deck. Sure you can still setup Apo/Caesar/Desirae with it but that's what every other decks can do with 2 bodies, if you dont open the Yubel portion of the deck it's gonna be like infinitely worse now. Phantom to 1 is incredibly impactful because that card helped so much with its bricking issues. The deck needs to play an uncomfortably high amount of garnets and it was fine because you can put them back in deck for Phantom (and use Phantom for other link plays)
@@saito853 I agree with you that Yubel's not going to be a good deck in the new format. However, there's one point I’d like to slightly disagree with. You are absolutely able to bridge to the Yubel Engine with Yama and post-errata Summon Sorceress in OCG. The only problem is that you can't do too much being fiend-locked. I never run Apollousa in my Yubel deck, but it hurts if Varudras is also not accessible. I also often play Fiendsmith Unchained in OCG. I know Beatrice is bound to be banned, so I started adapting to Summon Sorceress builds early, which is now a popular build in OCG. After Lacrimosa, the requirements for a starter have been reduced to just needing a certain number of monsters, so people stopped using Rhino and started using Sangan, as you can set up the Unchained board with one Tour Guide and search Maxx C. Even after the October banlist, you can still use a single Lacrimosa to complete the Sequence + Lacrima + Engraver combo (this starter is strictly worse than a single Closed Heaven). You just need to recycle Lacrimosa with Engraver before activating Requiem. After that, you can use Yama to search Sharvara and connect to any Fiend via Summon Sorceress. For Unchained, one Tour Guide equals Rage + Escape + Muckraker + Caesar + Maxx C. This is actually not too different from Beckoning, because without using Rhino, the only thing Tour Guide brings is two random bodies. I'm not trying to argue that Yubel is still playable, because Yubel actually relies more on non-Fiend Boss Monsters to use up its bodies. What I'm trying to say is that when you're trying to adapt to another format, it's important to avoid fixed assumptions. Some decks that seem similar may be much more localized. When I first arrived in TCG, I thought D-Link wasn't playable because the standard OCG combo required 2 Strikers. However, after a while, I found out that D-Link was still popular at local. I’ve also seen TCG players think that OCG's Fiendsmith Memento uses Fiendsmith only to go from Cross Sheep to Goblin. In reality, after Grand Imprisonment, Goblin became extremely accessible, the starter is always abundant, and Fiendsmith is more extender to Desirae or Caesar. The TCG doesn’t have Chorozo yet, and players may not realize that Desirae has become far more accessible post-Lacrimosa. Maybe Yubel will somehow turn into a Fiend Pile and become viable again after some time, or perhaps it will become a rogue deck later. It's still too early to draw conclusions before OCG players explore post-banlist combos, especially since OCG has utilities that TCG has yet to receive.
Why do you see Alius beat as much better than what other thinks ? Do you think there are lines of plays that others dont see ? or is it only your tech cards ?
Honestly, I could probably make an entire video about this, but generally what I personally think makes an Edison deck good falls on 5 main factors: 1. Consistency 2. Ability to Plus 3. Spot Removal 4. Broken Win Conditions 5. Resiliency All good decks in Edison have all of these traits and decks that tend to be hyped up, but not actually good (ie. Fairies) tend to be missing one or multiple of these categories. This is also the criteria I use to determine is a new deck has the potential to be a really good deck or not. To speak about Diva Beat specifically, a brief summary would be that Diva Beat is a hyper-consistent deck that represents a similar threat range every single game with all 5 of the criteria listed above. It also has the ability to side the strongest side deck cards in the format and has a strong matchup spread (even having a rare positive matchup against Blackwing). I find it more difficult to conclude that Diva Beat isn't one of the best decks in the format because its strengths are so obvious. It also passes the eye test easily.
I gotta say, I absolutely love and appreciate these kinds of videos more than any other kind of Edison content. Explaining every single choice and talking about side choices and possible counters is so eye opening to deck building choices. Please keep em coming ❤
