First thing I would do is get rid of those self tap screws and drill holes for proper bolts. Also, the holes are located in weather exposed parts of the A pillar. They need to be properly cleaned, treated, and sealed or they will rust in no time. Finally, I sure hope there are no airbags in the A pillar on those VWs. Otherwise, bad day for some unlucky installer.
On the underside of mine I have only four holes in the chassis even though its the identical year, but have found all the holes you mention - what size tap did you use - never done that before so want to make sure I cut the right size
I installed mine today, it took about a hour. However I'm disappointed, the brackets do not allow the side step to protrude enough to put more than your toes on. Also lack of strength towards the rear of the side step, allow flexing/bending. I should have spent a little more for a more suitable product.
I'm about to install the same set to my crv, however just looking at your video, I think you have used the wrong set of pre drilled holes. There are 3 sets on each side. I believe you have used the middle and rear set, as opposed to front and rear set.
