My 2009 Cobalt same problem. 121k miles on it. Only did it once yesterday with the Reduced Engine Power Warning on start up at the grocery store and the car shut off. i waited a minute and it started up with a check engine light on but it got home about 5 miles with no issues. , but I found this very valuable video and had the exact wear spot on the wire harness by the oil filter housing. I would not have found it this quick without this video. I moved the harness and taped it up. The check engine light already went away and so I hope this didnt damage any wires all the way. I could not see if it did or not. This is a great video. GM should have recalled this problem by sending all the cobalts in and move the harness, or at least let owners know to move the harness before the harness gets damaged all the way.
My puller thingy in the car came off , I put it back in but Im sure I didnt the spring back in behind the puller and now the hood doesnt stay shut. I think I need to put the spring back in for it to work again.
My 2007 chevy cobolt is doing this exact thing but i replaced throttle body and sensor and pedal assembly...was fine for a few days now sqare one again with reduced engine power and check engine light...i turn of car for a min or two start it up and check engine light is off and car runs fine again...cant locate any damaged wires any recommendations where i should look...im getting desperate
Thank you sir! Your video made it look easy. Your clear, simple, and concise instruction made it understandable. Some of the other videos made this process an "almost professional-only" job.
Thanks very much for this. I would like to test the fuel pressure before I take on the job of replacing the fuel pump, which is a horror show. I recently bought a 2006 Dodge Caravan with only 38,000 Mi on it, and things are going wrong with it because of its age. The van is a little bit hard to start but runs normally otherwise. However, today it took about 5 Seconds of cranking before it started after approximately 1 hour of sitting still. I think the writing is on the wall. There is a cheaper pro tool kit for about $30, and I'm wondering if I can buy that one rather than the $60 unit.
First...thx so much for what you do... love you videos very helpful...if you have time I would love to see you do something with the fuel pressure regulator on the van...thx much and keep up the good work
Thank you for the kind words. I have looked into the fuel pressure regulator but on the Caravan I have, 2005 3.8 , the fuel pressure regulator is built into the fuel pump assembly. Therefore if there were any issues with the fuel regulator I believe you would be replacing the fuel pump and regulator together since they are in tank. I hope that is helpful.
Thank you for this video! However, it would be valuable to know what is the p/n for that fuel supply jumper? Could not find it on ebay or Mopar website. Also it would be nice to know how did you mannage to disonnect it from the other side? Do you need any tool for it?
Thanks for the video. Mine busted the 1/2" underbody line after an unexpected hard freeze and not enough antifreeze in the system. I want to use a standard brass compression coupling after cutting out the short damaged section to repair. If it's too long I'll use heater hose and a couple clamps instead of replacing the entire assembly as Mopar says 🙄. I don't haul passengers back there either and would rather have all the heated water directed through the front core. I may use this method later.
I have a problem this morning when I started my car up with the cold weather I had to reduce power I haven't took it out in 3 days because of the cold weather I'm not sure what the issue is?
Amazing what they can put into a small pace, make me think things like as long as we've got everything apart and the weather is nice, I'm gonna replace the thermostat, small hose, and so forth...
Thank you so much for the video, I ordered that exact Betool and have a dodge caravan, will be running the test tomorrow. Hey, just curious, did you find out why your fuel pressure was dropping right away? It should stay the exact same number and then only drop 1psi every 10 minutes or so?
I encountered this very problem today. Now, I know how to fix it myself and save some $$$ thanks to you! Thank you for this informative video! Do you have any videos on why my sliding passenger door won't open automatically and how to fix it?
Got an '07 Focus and every now and then, the car will do a hard shift into 2nd at parking lot speeds and the O/D light will start flashing. It'll reset when you turn the car off and back on again. Could this sensor possibly fix that issue?
