I first flew on these 777s probably 6-7 years ago? Maybe 8... but back then China was still flying LAX routes with 747s and OMG the difference in comfort was incredible. Then last December I flew on it again and wow they got so old so quickly. I guess it was one of the earlier ones? But ya, it was so loud especially on take off, the sound of air rushing past was deafening.
