2 years experience as a SOC analyst.. been applying for about 6 months since contract ended from my last job and even WITH experience apparently I can't even get a junior position? Nor even an IT Helpdesk position🤷🏻♂ Industry is an absolute joke.
Idk why people hate CEH so much. People who answered CEH like 10-15 years ago obviously are telling me that it's useless because it was only a theory exam. But now they have CEH both theory and pracs. I know it might not be the best cert in Cybersecurity, But we need to align our resume based on importance given by the recruiters isn't it? At the end of the day perception is everything right? I have seen so many people having OSCP yet having no jobs. I have 2+ years of experience and I have Security+ and Threat Modeling pro cert with me. Recently CEH v13 has come with AI capabilities. What do you think should I go for it? I really want some genuine advice here. Because lots of things are contradicting here.
This is great information regarding WGU - CyberSecurity program. Seems like gov jobs are only attainable to those who have the MASTERS degrees vs bachelors(saturated) degrees. Also, couldn't the BS degree be completed in less than 2 years and cost less than $10k? Just going off the figures WGU shows for 6-month term = $8,730(2 semesters) Let's assume I study and complete assignments giving 2 hours dedicated per day. I do agree a masters is much heavier and invaluable nowadays. I have more than a decade worth of IT professional exp focused on IT support/networking/system admin responsibilities. Would my IT exp help when applying for cybersecurity(entry-level) roles while or after attending WGU? Just some deep questions I'd like to ask from a fellow WGU graduate before I jump on the bandwagon ^_^
WGI Alumni, Best decision I ever made. Graduated 10/2018, and walked in 2/2019 in Orlando, worse thing that happened is that I waited until 1/2020 to pursue a new job, and guess what happened. However, due to Bachelors in Business Administration I have received great job offers after the plandemic happened.
Can you recommend courses or bootcamp to get into IT Audit or Compliance? I have experience as a Product Owner and Business Analyst and I'm tired of writing tech requirements and would like to transition into something more "boring and predictable".
This simple honest explanation of what it's like for you working in grc vs tech roles is really helpful to hear for those of us trying to figure out what direction to go.
Hello nicole ! I am a student of AS levels and I have currently taken mathematics, computer science and physics in my A levels... I wanted to ask you that : What A level subjects would I need to do cryptography in forensics ? I actually want to do business studies instead of physics so is that okay ? I would be very grateful if you guide me 😊
