Too beautiful for words. Cara's singing is heavenly; Sam's piano accompaniement is so creative and gorgeous, and Zoe's fiddle brings a tear to the eye every time. Thank you from South Side of Chicago for posting.
Is this version different than the album version? Is it a different take? Or parts recorded differently? The only part to the arrangement that sounds differently to me is the timbre of the strings. And also the mix sounds punchier, but this might be the vinyl. I don't know. Care to share?
This version predates the album version. It was recorded at Cargo Studios and was produced by Martin Hannett, who's best known for producing Joy Division's albums and singles.
That looks like a great venue. What is the sound like? I saw them in 1990 at Liverpool Empire (I think it was '90!) and again in 2018 in The Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool. They always were a great band and sound superb live.
