Hey RU-vid this is Garrett with First Cast Angling and I’m all about going fishing I target catfish for the most part but I also target a lot of other species basically whatever I wanna go try to catch I’m based out of southern Ohio so I fish the Scioto and Ohio River quite often but also do creek fishing and lakes I just like being on the water with nature hope yall enjoy my videos and enjoy going on the adventures with me.
Love it man keep reeling them in I live in Memphis and fish a run off of the Mississippi but the gar are terrible so I'm going back with chicken and blood nuggets. This is my first time using the nuggets have you ever had any luck with the imitation baits?
Hey I appreciate you watching and I’m trying been slow since the water has dropped significantly with know rain and I can’t say I have ever used imitation baits all the catfish I ever catch come off of Livebait,cutbait and knightcrawlers.
Yea it was a good one and I wish it would poor up north around Columbus for days man if the river would get up close to flood stage it would be fire especially this time of the year it’s been a dry summer that’s for sure
Hey garret Dale here. I went out fishing on Sunday and I had a nice size gar but came off the hook. I only caught a turtle on skipjack. Up north in the scioto.
Yea I didn’t do very good out there this year now last year before I started RU-vid slammed channel cats every time I went and hey I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
Yea there around they mostly come from Kincaid fish hatchery like I said in the video they release these fish every year whatever they have left the let go in this creek and they’ve been doing it for years so there around a lot more but this creek feeds into sunfish creek which is popular for musky and they go into that creek so who knows if the musky eat them or not
Here's you a little tip I'm a fishing fool I go to Tennessee and just trophy fish for em catch and release get some 4 pound stren blue clear little straight shank 8 eagle claw hook Aberdeen tiny split shot big lively keep on ice red worms a blast
im in oklahoma and the local river is a muddy walled and bottom type river, not rocky looking like yours. had 2 holes, in the stretch of river that i fished on for 22 years, that would stay chin deep, in the hottest summer times. after rains, they would get deeper of coarse. dont have access to the river anymore, so i dont ever go. keep fishing! peace
Yeah that channel he caught wasn't bad, looked like he was about 11-12 lbs, something like that, and he'll heal up eventually in that river, a lot of them get beat all to hell during spawn.
Yea it was definitely 10Ibs or up and yea I’ve seen some really bad marks on some fish out of the Scioto now that channel cat he caught you couldn’t see all of it the best cause it was dark but that thing was beat up bad and it was fresh like a couple days fresh so it’s had a rough spawn.
Yeah that channel cat there at first, that's the males that their head and lips get all dark and stuff and that thing looked like a 8 or 10 lb, at least on camera it did, that's a real nice channel! Man, me and my Uncle and cousin has caught a lot of channels and flatheads out of the Great Miami on goldfish, the part of the Great Miami we fished, we never caught any blues, course that was up around Middletown and Trenton area.
Yea channel cats are fun to catch in the rivers there powerful and Yano I’ve never fished the Miami river I’d like try it out in the future in this video I was really shocked didn’t catch any bluecats cause there another bank on down stream a ways that I have caught nice blues out of so you just never know yano but hey I appreciate you watching the video and commenting.
live gold fish rock!!!! when the fish are black on top, its from them hanging out in deep water. caught a lot like that, over the last 4 decades. keep fishing!
Yea goldfish are great live bait I’ve caught blues flats and channels on em they stay lively really good for a long time and yea this spot was pretty deep on out in the main channel I enjoyed the spot though probably gonna hit it again sometime but I appreciate you watching the video and commenting.
My dad passed away kinda suudenly sunday evening. We use to fish together. Been hard to find things to keep me distracted from emotions. Ur video was relaxing and easy to watch. Thanks man. Enjoyed it
I don't want the exact spot your at but about where you fish at?I live just South of Columbus and I can't find a spot deep enough to hold Big fish in the scioto around here. I'd be a faithful fallower of your channel for some good info!!

Hey I appreciate it and yea I like it peaceful on the river bank myself I try to keep it that way I do good though only time I’m talking is when that action begins.
Yea your second person that that’s told me I appreciate it but yea I told the other guy that I didn’t leave the pole out very long after I casted it cause my bait got stolen from a bait stealer but I took care of it idk how it came undone because it was fine when I first started fishing it was odd tbh
