Thank you for posting that I just went outside and practiced that then we went on a 225 field and I was hitting home runs every time and I’m only 11 yo I just turned 11yo
Hey, I’m 11 years old and I’ve been collapsing my backside and dropping my hands I’m not striking out I’m masking contact it is t-ball contact and I get so frustrated. I play travel ball and we play in PG tournaments a lot so we face fast pitching but are there any tips that would help me, well you probably won’t see this comment but if anyone know a drill I can do or something at the plate I could to stop collapsing my backside that would be great. I hit off the tee for about 2 hours every day but I think I’m just teaching myself bad habits
Josh, great timing! My 11 yo son has been dropping his hands from the left side of the plate (not from right side for some reason) for the past 3 weeks ... just out of nowhere. Bad timing as he just started Little League All Stars. I used those theraband loops with him to work on arm action when throwing, but didn't think to use it for hitting ... gonna try it out this afternoon before his game to see if he can get that feeling back. Any other recommendations? We've been doing top hand w/ high tee and no strides w/ high tee to try to reinforce the hands loading and staying at shoulder height . Once we get into front flips and live, his hands start dropping again. Thanks!
Josh, what a great video and the way you’re teaching with that young man. Don’t know his age but you did mention something about high school. That young man has a lot of good things going on, but as you were saying, he has a little hand drop in his load. I also saw you using those bands, I keep seeing them on Facebook and want to get your opinion on them. I’m a coach and instructor at a facility up here in PA just outside of Philly and I chuckled when you mention Mike Schmidt. Grew up watching him and he was like my childhood hero! I really love what you’re doing and your videos. Would love to chat and keep up the good work!
Its your peers around you that make it difficult. Your own teammates will hate on you, put you down and try to fight you. Jealousy is real. Your parents need to support you 100%. They got to be all in.
Other than starting late this is the one big flaw in my son’s swing. It is especially on low pitches - he drops his arms and basically arm bars his front arm to get to low pitches. It is understandable but I think it is the result of a timing and sequencing issue: he waits too long to initiate a swing because he makes no move until he is sure it is a strike so he is late in launching. Because of that, when he sees a low pitch he thinks is a strike, instead of firing hips, tilting shoulders and turning to contact he cheats by dropping his hands towards the ball.
Coach, I have son that has a beautiful swing, but he's afraid to swing hard because he will lose control of the swing. Any drills you can suggest? Thanks
Love it brotha ! Was hoping you were gonna woop out The Farmboard max from The Farm System. That things dope!Helps with over rotation.Would love to hear your review on it
He doesn't seem to be staying back. Hitting off the front foot? Big chicken wing, knob to the ball, way out in front of the ball? Am I seeing this right?
You may be seeing it right, but what’s your point? It’s Tony Gwynn and he happens to be a top 3 barrel to ball skill guy of all time. Did you not notice pitch location
@@hittingdoneright Pitch location looks like it is belt high? I can't really see the ball when contact is made. And yes, I do admire Tony Gwynn. Do not get me wrong. I just thought it strange that he went so forward in this swing. And I guess he is balanced even with rising up with his hips? And what was the result of this swing?
Most baseball swing videos only show this angle, but we really need the other angle as well though, the one from behind the plate, since the baseball swing is a 3-dimensional thing, to give a better idea of how vertical vs how horizontal her swing is.
