Nice job! I found my bird wren from 1969 when I was 11 at my mom's house after she passed. Just collected the last of the parts to make the Tecumseh run. It has no spark. The bike had no throttle, no grips,no chain, no clutch. Just the frame, engine, seat and rotten 55 year tires. No idea what my younger brother did with them. Thought about leaving the patina, but rattle cans are cheap. I found the seat in a closet in a paper sack, so nothing ate it. Have fun with your cat. I am looking forward to hearing my bird run.
If you went from a stock jet to a larger main jet to fix it that means you just added more fuel to cover up a vacuum leak. With the stock muffler and airbox it should run with the stock jet. If all was well and you run a larger main with the stock muffler and airbox it should run pig rich. The large (37) jet should be used with a header pipe and filter kit.
I put a header pipe on and modified the airbox and it runs fine with the 38 jet. Even if there is an air leak I don’t know where it would be coming from cause I did just about everything to fix one.
@@JPkartz Understood. I think we run mains that are too big in the stock carbs. I ran a 38 with my built 224 and the plug looked like I was running rich. And that was a bored carb. It now has a VM22 clone. Your 5/8 drill bit for the venturi is a good idea. I got some reaming tool to open mine. Ruined one carb trying to go too big.
@@Deucealive75ive never really been precise with jetting lol. My go kart has a stage one kit with a jet drilled out with a 1/16 drill bit (yes it’s extremely rich)

On todays episode of "Lets do dumb shit and have fun" lol. If you take the valve out of the valve stem that will help you get more air into the stem that would posibly have helped you get it on the bead just get it to seat than pull the air chuck off and thread the valve back in.
