Holy fuck what blast of nostalgia. Remember when dudes were cool in commercials? Hell remember when commercials weren’t complete shit and you could tolerate the and in this rare case love them? This is from a better time kids. Back when things were fun and a dude could be a dude and enjoy dude shit like this without a nine hour lecture about “toxic masculinity”.
It's funny cause this came out around the time that the first Fast and the Furious movie was out and everyone was cashing in on that and this was probably meant to be a parody of that. These days this EXACT scene would actually be in the newer films and just be the most normal scene in the entire movie.
I remember legit thinking this happened (sans Mountain Dew) in the first Fast and Furious movie and being shocked it didn’t happen when I rewatched it about fourteen years later.

Everytime I hear that song I think of this commercial, today I decided to finally look it up, never knew Tatum was in it never knew it was this epic ( I guess I was numb to it by that point with 90's commercials) and I thought they was in the desert, god bless whoever saved this commercial.

It's because of the "Peanut" cylinder heads, the cast manifold, the small 500 CFM carb and the crappy cam. However for you can buy an Edelbrock top end kit for $1000 replace all those parts and get the horsepower to around 320-350. Plus stock the torque is great!
