Finally, a video that isn't about _"how to easily..."_ because more often than not, there is no easy way to get a cat to do something. This makes sense because it has a lot to do with conditioning behavior. I'm gonna have to work on this with my cate.
Hi! I just found out my cat has glaucoma and now I have to apply eyedrops that burn her eyes a little bit, 4x a day - FOREVER . Im able to apply them but my cat's demeanor has changed and even though her eyes are better, she seems more sad. Stopped asking for cuddles, goes to bed earlier at night, tail is low, wont come when I call her... I dont know what to do :( i must treat her but i dont want her to be sad. She doesnt care about treats (shes never had much of an appetite really), all she cared before was cuddles, and now she doesnt really care about cuddles either. Do you have any tips?
Is it normal for my eight year old cats to play like this? They’re both healthy, happy, etc.. and they “play” like this often. There’s never any growling or hissing, but one my my cats often seems to take it too far? He make the other kitty meow and try to run away, but there has never been any real harm to either of them. Only sometimes small bits of fur (they’re heavy shedders, so I never adduced they were ripping fur out from each other)
This video is three years old but it works like magic!!! Thank you so so so muchhhhh🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I immediately try it and it workssss!!! My Ginger is so difficult to get drink of her pills but when I try this it workss!!! for all the videos I watched, this one blows my mind!!! Thank you Thank youuu❤❤❤
The textured surface is genius!! Our cat has been prescribed two pills a day and pilling him was a nightmare for him and me. We watched other videos but their techniques didn’t work for us but simply using a textured surface (small hand towel in our case) works 100% of the time for us. Thank you 🙏
My black mother cat came as a kitten and eventually had two litters of five kittens each. I kept two, a male and female and sold the others. Mother is going on for five years now and still joins in with play fighting and somtimes instigates it. They play indoors and ambush each other from the bushes in the garden. All good for my wellbeing and mental health. There is always a reason to laugh at their antics evry day.
We take our 2 cats put on harnesses supervised. They love it. What harness would you recommend? Our one cat especially gets out of her harness at times. We get very scared when she does..any suggestions?
Are our cats the only ones that don't take meds with this method 🤣 I didn't follow the exact instructions but placed meds on a towel and covered them with churu. My cats came over and eagerly licked only the treat off leaving the medicine intact...
Thank you SO much. All the videos say to give the sub Q between the front shoulder blades, but the cat will inevitably squirm and move their head around which causes the needle to move around & dislocate. After watching your video we tried her on the flank and she tolerated it so much better. I was just looking to make it easier. I hadn't even considered the possible discomfort of the fluid going to her front legs. And yeah... she's 18 years old and definitely has some arthritis setting in. In my opinion, yours is the best video out there. Thanks again!
I've used storage totes and they worked well for a good while but lately I've been having issues of them eliminating right outside of the box (these are massive boxes so its not a room issue) so I'm starting to think its because they feel unsafe. The youngest cat (female, other two are male, all fixed) has been harassing one and seeming dominant. So I'm wanting clear boxes to maybe help. For others: Where to buy 5:25 - The Container Store
I have a one-year-old cat who is quite intelligent, she does little tricks like shaking her paw or sitting, but I can't get her interested in these feeders, does anyone have any advice? I have thought about giving him catnip spray, is it a good option?
I wanted to say thank you for posting this video. 11 years later you are still helping people like me. I have been giving subq fluids every 3 days to my CKD girl, Cookie, for the past year. Along the way, I lost my confidence. Then I found your video and it's so calm and reassuring, so I play your video during every single one of our fluid sessions. Cookie, on the other hand, loves the sessions because she gets to have her favorite treat. Thank you again!
You need to use a smaller gauge needle! That hurts him when it’s inserted! You can tell by his facial and body language before you even insert the needle that he is anticipating pain. And sure enough, he jumps and meows upon insertion. 😪 This should not be a negative experience for a cat. The typical 18 gauge needles vets use-which you’re probably using here-are for speed only. They do not take the comfort of the cat into consideration. I’ve administered subQ LRS fluids to over 3 dozen rescue senior cats in the last 30 or so years. I have always used a 21 gauge Terumo needle. Terumo is an excellent, extra sharp brand. It is extra smooth; it glides into the skin like butter! The size 21 doesn’t illicit any response at all from my cats.
I rescued one of my cats from my backyard a few years ago. I had a one year old cat at the time and I kept them separate while she recovered from her trauma. A while later I introduced them and she was very intimidated because he had grown up playing with other cats and is very sociable with other cats. But after a week they were playing and wrestling together. They love each other and understand eachother's limits.
Sorry for the dumb question … What type and size syringe are using to suction up the hills a/d? I can’t get any syringe to suctioning it up like you do. Thanks.

I love this video but none of these beautiful tricks have worked for me. They do 2 or 3 times but my cat is too intelligent to be fooled over and over again and I need to medicate him every day. I ordered the chicken flavoured capsules and still waiting for them to arrive but that's my last hope. My cat is very sick, he is in pain and he is dying and now is scared of me on top of all this. It breaks my heart.
Absolutely an excellent video!! The most thorough variety of examples of how to give your cats medications that I have ever seen! I used some Churro at the tip of the syringe and it was so much easier to administer a liquid Rx.
uh I have two 2 male kittys that are the same age 8-9 weeks old but one is a little smaller than the other and when they play the bigger one plays a little rough cuz the little one makes sounds like he’s in pain from the bigger one biting him but I don’t know what to do abt this behavior if it’s bad this is my first time raising kittens idk what to do i don’t want him to keep hurting him if he is but everything else they do together well
First of all, they are so cute! Second, I just appreciate your posting this topic. My cat is a super food-crazy girl. This is going to be easy, I think!
