Welcome to New Narrative Events a Canadian event planning company that has specific expertise in planning Celebrations of Life.
Since 2017 we have worked with over 400 families from all over the world on Virtual Memorials, in person Celebrations of Life, and Hybrid events (a combination of a live event with a virtual component). Now, families can celebrate their loved ones without being *there*
We have planning packages, virtual consultations, event guides and more.
Not sure where to start? Book a one-hour consultation with us where we will get to know where you are and help you make a tangible plan going forward: bit.ly/newnarrativeconsultation
great video with lot's of great tips. As someone you teaches presentation skills for a living, you're great. One tip is to really shorten this down, get to the software within the first 90-120 seconds.
Ugh - PPT used to allow you to add an album that put a picture on each slide. That doesn't seem to exist any more for PPT for Mac (source: I made our wedding slide show 15 years ago on a PC with PPT and it was sooooo easy). I will be using Keynote after all, at least to start because I will have hundreds of pics!
Thank you for this tutorial. I have been trying to do a PPT slideshow for my mom's funeral and was feeling overwhelmed by the whole thing. I needed someone to go through this step by step with me; my brain just isn't working like I want it to. Thank you for making it easier.
These are wonderful, Thank you! We recently lost my sister and have been overwhelmed with not only planning her memorial, but the amount of items we are handling, saving and juggling etc. We don't want things lost in the jumble of it all. A guest book would not work as well for our family.
Oh I'm glad you found this helpful! It really is something magical to be able to capture guest memories in something a bit more permanent and meaningful than a lined book. Often, guests have so much to say and share with you! And these memories are what you'll treasure for a long time. Email me any time at info@newnarrative.ca if I can help with any templates or other suggestions. My best to all of you in this planning journey...
Hi @susan1098 - Please accept my condolences on hearing about the loss of your sister. Personally, I find that 5 seconds per picture is a good amount. With that logic, you can get 12 photos per 60 seconds. So, if you have around 30 photos, the video will be around 2 -3 minutes. I hope this helps! Don't hesitate to connect with us at support@newnarrative.ca if we can help further ❤
We're so glad you've stopped by to check out this video. Let us know what you thought and please do reach out if we can help you plan an upcoming event.
You'd be surprised how fast the slideshow actually goes! In my opinion, if you have many photos, 5s is just enough time to view the photo briefly before moving on. Having lots of musical variety helps as well!
Thank you very much ❤ Thinking of all of you during this time. If you'd like to book in a customized consultation with our team you can visit bit.ly/newnarrativeconsultation and we'll be happy to walk you through your specific needs.

trying to add my transitions. When I right click on the first picture, there is no "select all" option. When I just click on "transitions" there is only the one option of time duration, and no check box for "mouse click." I can't get it to play without clicking the mouse.
Oh I'm so glad! It can be such an overwhelming process, emotionally and physically (scanning, taking pictures of pictures, etc). Feel free to email any time at info@newnarrative.ca if we can help ❤
I lost my parents last month and have been trying to plan a gathering for a lot of people. I have some help from friends & family but I’m 2000 miles away trying to bring this together in a couple weeks. It’s very overwhelming. Thank you!
Oh I'm so glad you found this helpful. My sincere condolences and please don't hesitate to book an appointment or email us if you have *any* questions. -Christina
