Excellent video I have ridden Test Track, Journey to the Center of the Earth and Radiator Springs Racers. Nice to know how the ride system works. Did the Rocket Rods in Disneyland use a modified version of this same system? It was retrofitted on the People Mover track and I've seen pictures of a single large pipe down the middle with buss bars on both sides of the pipe. Too bad Disney didn't give Tony Baxter a proper budget for that ride where he could have implemented banked turns. Unfortunately, Dynamic Attractions went bankrupt and was sold to a Hong Kong-based financial services company, Promising Expert Limited (PEL), for $1.5 million US dollars. Disney and General Motors have announced that Disney Imagineering will use inspiration from the original World of Motion in the next redo of Test Track. The finale where the track circles around the building at high speed may be removed and the remaining outdoor portions enclosed so that the ride operation is not impacted by weather. I suppose the mechanics of the ride system won't change with this refreshening.
For YEARS I refused to ride this thinking I would get motion sickness or just be scared cuz I’m terrified of being up high, on the edge of tall things. I was always the guy left holding everybody’s drinks, food, and bags while they all rode it. Had to listen to everyone’s stories about how much fun it was when meeting them at the exit. One visit about 7-8 years ago, I just decided to give it a try (maybe a certain beverage helped🤷♂️) much to my friends’ amazement and now this is my favorite attraction at Studios. By far. Yes, it still scares the heck outta me when that elevator car drops the first time but WOW it is SO much fun!!! I can’t believe I missed out for so many years. Everything about this attraction from the waiting queue to the exit gift shop is amazing. If you’re like me too scared to ride it, just give it a try. You may end up loving it 🤷♂️
The one time I actually had enough guts to go on this ride there was only one elevator operating and the cast members were only letting fast pass people go. We had a reservation so we had to get out of line.
Fun fact: In SML’s Bowser Junior Goes To Disney World Part 1. The SML crew have ridden the Tower of Terror while filming. And let’s just say. They kinda had a fun time.
everyone is talking about the drop, but the rooms before the drop were cool. like the walls getting taller and smaller. the whole exhibit experience was awesome IMO *Disney Florida, i see now not all features were the same
This video is one of my favorite videos of all time. I always revisit it bc it successfully deconstructs the ride while making it seem almost more magical than it was before.
I was so excited for this ride when I was younger but as soon as we dropped…WAAAAAAAAA I was so scared but now I’m like “why didn’t I like this ride? This is the best ride ever!”
Have you done a video on shepherds slings? I’ve noticed that the shorter the sling is, the more accurate it is, but the longer it is, the farther you can launch a stone
1:42 I sometimes have trouble determining distances; my left eye is farsighted and the right is REALLY nearsighted (as in things only come into focus less than an inch in front of my eyeball!)
whilst me and my family were in the line, one of the elevators broke down(elevator a i think idk). when we got on the ride and i realized that our elevator was the one that broke down. haven’t gone on it since. hopefully i’ll go on the guardians of the galaxy drop tower
