Yngwie Malmsteen's career has spanned over 40 years with over twenty albums to his name. Drawing influence from classical composers such as Bach, Paganini, and Vivaldi, Yngwie is responsible for birthing the neo-classical genre to the world of rock.
This guy definitely got me out of rock bottom , i didnt know youncould play guitsr like this when i was 16 i just figured this guy out on a tab i was like fuawk yaw and there use to be a lot of thunderstorms
I turn 50 next month and I've been listening to Yngwie since I was a teenager in the 80s. Still blows me away to this day, from the Alcatrazz days up to present day, he's still the undisputed Master of the Stratocaster. Carlo 👍🏼🎸
Still to this day, the guitar playing looks so natural and effortless in his hands and the way he plays. As good as other players are, their playing looks like they have trained themselves to do it. For Yngwie it looks like he was born with the guitar in his hand.
An “unplugged” album - but done Yngwie’s way, of course. I love it. The choir, the strings, the nylon string, everything. The intro to Brothers is chilling. Crying is just amazing - the cello drone to introduce the song is so great. Yngwie is such a talented songwriter among countless other things. Thank you, maestro.
I remember when I was a child and my older brother recorded the video on VHS. I would play it and every time we'd go "wait for it... wait for it... Ok, there's Yngwie's solo!!!"
Was fortunate to be in the audience for his "You Don’t Remember, I’ll Never Forget" video shoot. Amazing to see him play right in front of me during the shoot and the mini-concert afterwards. Still have two of the many guitar picks/plectrums he tossed out to the crowd. Then again during his tour later and I think it was at the Long Beach Sports Arena in Southern California. Such great memories to carry me over when times were bad.
