The Red Ants Pants Music Festival was founded in 2011. It is designed to bring people together and is a program of our 501(c)(3) Red Ants Pants Foundation. Our non-profit works to expand women’s leadership, preserve working family farms and ranches, and enrich rural communities. We use proceeds from the festival to run our timber skills workshops, Girls Leadership Program, and community grant cycle.

In 2011, 6,000 fans came to celebrate rural Montana in a cow pasture. Over the years, attendees have enjoyed headliners including Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris, Charley Pride, Lucinda Williams, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Keb' Mo', Wynonna, Taj Mahal, Dwight Yoakam, and many more. The festival continues its success into its eleventh year July 27-30, 2023, aiming to improve upon the authentic, rich community culture the colony enjoyed during the 2022 festival.
