Ciao dalla Palermo Sicilia. USMC 64--68. Vietnam March 65--66. Here's a real kicker. Christmas Eve 1965. 20 years old. And hearing all of those Christmas songs from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole's the Christmas song, It's a marsh mellow World, Elvis and Blue Christmas. Well, you talk about some really teary - eyed Marines. But we made the best of it. And when the beginning of March 66 rolled around, it was off to Okinawa and 5 days later I flew out of Kadina Air Force Base back Home to the real World.

Sir- I carried m60 in 68 and 69. I almost always carried it on my shoulder unless in heavy jungle canopy. I balanced it with my right hand on one of the fold down bipods. Can't help but think you've watched too much "Rambo". I served with the 1st Cav division (airmoble). My platoon walked into Khe Sanh to relieve our wonderful and brave Marines. Sir, please don't exaggerate Vietnam war stories. I have much respect for you that you served. God bless.🙏🇺🇸🥁Sgt. wn

My late husband "humped" the M60. He was a jock in HS..short and stocky. Saw a few picks of him with it...impressive. He never spoke much about his experiences there and never owned or allowed a firearm into our home, never went camping and never wore underwear. Always wondered (but assumed) why....but never asked. Some things are better left alone.

These guys were duped into fighting and murdering people who did nothing to the USA. Have their lives for nothing. Kissinger said military people are dumb stupid animals to be used in foreign policy. Maybe that's why they're given dog tags

The Andromedian Greek combat astro fleet salute all your fallen heroes in all your wars as the local universe is at war. The situation in 1999 was that a multi dimensional war broke out due to an SOS call from our solar system by friendly ET Humanoids as the Draco reptilian 118 war planet moon astro fleet entered our solar system heading for Earth to turn it into another asteroid belt. In response the Andromedian Greek rulers of the 13 galactic clusters of galaxies in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th dimensional universes mobilised there local 960 war planet astro fleet. The 3rd dimension in our solar system has 340 war planets as do the 4th dimension. Look, in the future after 2020 a massive space war over Earth will happen and latest betting is Andromedian 3/1 favourites and Draconian reptilians 14/1 outsiders. Hahaha.

I was just thumbing through and foujnd this video! I went through Ft. Benning Jump School in July 1967, then to Ft Lee for Rigger School, and then to Wiesbaden/Mainz! I was at Rhine Kassern right on the river on the Wiesbaden side! I can't say I remember your brother, though. I didn't get there until early 1968 and was there for a little over a year, then to the 101st at Camp Eagle, Phu Bai/Hue! I'm sure I ran into your brother somewhere along the way!! All of my pictures and films got lost somewhere along the way after I got home! Great memories!! My first jump was out of a 119 malso! The rest were 130's!!

My step father (RIP) Leonard Hayashida pfc E-3 25th infantry, co. A, 2ND bn,12th inf. 25th,, 'lightning pineapple' rarely talked about his combat, (refused) his second purple 💜 came after "f.f." in 69 I think, he decribed incident: his platoon on "recon" patrol firing into jungle blindly to stir up contact, when a parrallel road through jungle, a US jeep patrol with mounted M60 opened up on his squad, wrongly feeling the recon fire was enemy contact, as he said most of his platoon was killed, he was critically injured, hit by M60 rounds shrapnel bouncing of ground, struck in legs, pelvis, groin, spent next 3 years in VA beacon Hill ("pill Hill") Seattle.

Hi, wow, this brings back memories. Allot of good memories and allot of bad memories My name is Tom I was there in 1967 and 1968, I was a gunners mate on a Aog Aviation Gas and Oil supply ship. We were brown water sailors. Our Ship was The USS Kichwakee AOG 9 Our home port was Da Nang Harbor We would sail up and down the cost and deliver fuel to the isolated outpost sometimes under fire. I did two cruises to Vietnam with the Kish. and China Beach was a welcome place for us to unwind and try to forget the about war around us. I made a lot of great friends in the Navy that I still see today. I am 78 now but when I look back it seems like yesterday. Thank you for putting this video on RU-vid I am very grateful Tom
