Never been although born and raised in Harlow before emigrating thousands of years ago (!) to Canada (no sea near where I live in Alberta so really miss it, sand waves etc) yes Leigh (named my son that!) is busy place. I understand the comment about having some commentary but on the other hand it felt it was just me walking there. Secondly kept hoping you’d go inside a pub for a drink!!!! Do you ever do requests? Soy de México y estuve en Barnet, en Mayo, ya he estado en Londres antes pero me encantó Barnet, me encantó el clima de esos días, si aman la música vocal o igual si no, acudan en domingo a la iglesia de san Juan Bautista, la que está a la vista, sean o no creyentes, el coro que participa en las ceremonias nos muestra el hermoso arte del canto y armonía vocal, es increíble. El metro te lleva a muchos de los sitios emblemáticos para recorrer a pie desde London eye hasta Chinatown, picadilly, Soho etc etc, es hermoso Londres, ojalá y superen con éxito las crisis por las que hoy en Agosto están pasando, ¡¡AMO LONDRES Y A TODO UK!!.

I am an Englishwoman living in Canada and this video means the world to me as unable to travel back right now, although was there last year.. I actually really like living in the area and its typical that people who dont live there comment on these videos. Southmere lake is wonderful as well as the abbey woods. There is a great cafe off the lake and the area is only going to get more restuarants as peabody continues to build more flats
The lack of accessibility is just startling, with so many mobility scooters sitting out front of shops and businesses. And the lack of greenery in core is bad. Get some planter boxes and trees in Derby.
My local park in the 1950s and 60s. Good to see the Cafe open. Spent many a Saturday afternoon getting drinks from there in the 1960s whilst watching East Ham Corinthians play cricket on the field nearest the library.
I was born in the Heathway, near the Chequers, lived there from the 1950s up to the 1980s. I am watching this with tears in my eyes, what have they done to my beloved DAGENHAM. Diversity Gone Mad!!! .
The Cinema is a wasted venture, it hasn't opened since it was built and there is no information as to if it ever will, the town centre is a shadow of it's former self as is the town as a whole, basically the town has become run down with at least 45 -50% unemployment, local jobs for locals are rare and it is becoming overrun with immigrants who are part of this unemployed demographic. I grew up here as a child 5 -16 came back in 1998 after time in the military and the French Foreign Legion as well as needing to be back with the family, who have since departed their own ways and both parents deceased, I still live here but it is not the town I remember, frankly it is becoming a shithole! I live here because of a local woman I have settled down with otherwise I would disappear!!
Changed a little bit from when I lived there over 50 years ago, but not much. Good day for it. Will be down to visit my late parents again in the City of London soon.
To the Residents this will always be Essex not East London.Hornchurch 'village' as it used to be known is a vibrant town offering many choices of restaurants etc.,together with a variety of small shops.Nice place with Country parks and a massive recently renewed sports complex.
My Daughter has a Flat there it’s a very nice area & easy connection to west one London, it also has a excellent am-dram group that produces excellent shows in there very the Town.
If this is modern day progress and development. You can keep it. I remember Basildon 50+ years ago. Truly an outstanding town centre then. Needs levelling and starting again. Absolutely no continuity in architecture and lacks any heart and soul.
I remember it all so well although it's nearly 50 years since I was there. I lived in Hugh Stewart Hall form 1975 to 1978. It hardly seems to have changed
Yes the pie and mash shop has gone but only because the local authority indends to demolish the entire block and redevelop the site. So it's not all bad.
