Thanks, so much, for this solution. I was at my wit's end, but my smallish 17 year-old-daughter was quite willing to crawl through the back seat cavity into the trunk and open it. I had tried everything else that I saw on RU-vid, including the jumper cables and NOCO S100 ideas (which do not work if the battery is completely disconnected) .

Does anyone know if these trucks came with factory limited slip or posi track differentials in the front or rear? Or if it was optional from the factory? Or were they all open diffs front and rear regardless of trim level or factory options?

Tbh I find a lot of Ford's old dashboards still futuristic I've always found Ford's see through gauge cluster super sci Fi looking it was simply a glass housing with paint on it but it still pulled off a hologram look all the same on top of that the edsel spinning speedometer is just another fun gimmicky Speedo that makes the car stick in your mind even though those used to be common on cars from the 20s and early 30s

That's unfortunate. Especially all of the painted chrome.. That's usually a sign you can't afford new plating. And it's sad, because the rest of the car is probably pretty nice. And then there's the music.

It's a themed car, and the owner chose to customize it this way. The paint looks very good, and in my opinion, it was a high-end paint job. But there will always be people who dislike it. 😂 The car looked very impressive in person, and the interior and dashboard were in pristine condition. It takes a lot of effort to maintain a car like this. I think it's a beautiful car. The music is great. God Bless the USA 🇺🇸. Thanks for watching!

Lovely car, The chassis plate at 3:44 shows it is 1-1/2 litre engine. The Leaper mascot is too modern for the era. You need to find the Desmo leaper Jaguar mascot. the Desmo is more of a Prancer than the modern sleek versions today. My father had a 3-1/2 litre version in 1952. I still have the Desmo mascot on a piece of ebony wooden base. Apparently on long journeys to save space inside the car, my pram would be strapped between the headlights, minus the pram body of course, I would be asleep in that inside. Again, a lovely car, Well done.

These cars look good but they are not pleasant to drive! The engine is a Triumph four-cylinder unit which develops quite low horsepower and makes these cars quite sluggish to drive! Although the image is of a `Sports Saloon' sporty they are not. Comfortable and eye-catching but not sporty or even fast!

Certainly a very nice car. Just a few corrections. It is a 4 cylinder car having 1776 cc engine called the 1.5 liter. There are two six cylinder engines. One is 2500cc and the other is 3500cc. Though this car is quite original, it is not completely original evident by the modern fog lights. Correct fog lights for this car are Lucas FT57. The tool box is missing quite a few tools. Namely: the screwdriver, nested set of three sockets, tommy bar for the nested sockets, the open ended spanner is wrong for this car, there should be three Whitworth spanners of Snail brand, plier, the tire pump is the wrong for this car plus the tube for filling air is missing, it seems that the budget lock key for the spare tire compartment is missing. At least you do have the correct air filter and inlet manifold in the trunk. Overall a very nice car. You are lucky to have it.🙂

@CivilizedWarrior
@CivilizedWarrior 3 месяца назад
No, a flareside is just fords name for a stepside. Regular straight ford truck beds are called styleside beds. Chevy calls them step side and fleetside, instead. Just like how old ford extended cabs were called “super cabs” and dodges called them “club cabs,” or whatever. They all just have different names for the same stuff.
@Cricket-d6h8k

You are correct! In ford is Flareside. I got confused with Chevy Stepside. 🤦🏻‍♂️ 😆 Thanks for pointing it out and thanks for watching. ✌️
@austinlane5533
@austinlane5533 6 месяцев назад
No. Flairside weren't until 90s. That is what's known as a dentside. Bumpside (60s to '72) then dentside (to late 70s), then bullnose/bricknose (80's) and flairside in the 90s. Ect.
@CivilizedWarrior
@CivilizedWarrior 3 месяца назад
@@austinlane5533 no those names just refer to the body style of truck. They started using the name “flareside” in the late 50’s, I think, to differentiate from the new straight, flat sided beds, or “styleside” beds. They just didn’t have flareside badges on the fender until the 90’s. Every body style from the late 50’s (3rd gen) on could be bought with either a flareside, or a styleside bed. Except the 87-91 brick noses, I think. Never seen one of those from the factory with a flareside bed. And the 92-96 body style is called “OBS” meaning old body style. Because they were the last of the square body style trucks before the new rounded 97+ trucks came out. Except F250’s and up, which retained the Old body style for 97, and then changed to Super Duty’s in 98. Kinda confusing, but that’s just life when you’re a ford guy lol.
