For a follow up, here's my two cents: If you're opponent is double stable and making knights, you should prep for this with a stable of your own to make camels. Archers won't be enough unless you've done a lot of damage and he can't produce. Pikeman could work too ofc but obviously no bonus. If he's dropped archery ranges instead and is making skirms because he's not an archer civ, then he's cooked if you drop a forward siege workshop and go archers + mangonel. His only chance is to drop one on his own. If he does makes a siege workshop then obviously things get a little more even as mangonel micro will be key. Knights work well in that situation too however. If he's an archer civ then things are tougher. I usually go archers and try to bait him into a base trade, but otherwise it's just not the best matchup. Archer civs are Saracens achilles heel. If he's a meso civ, then eagles are a problem. I might get flak for this but I would consider longsword as a follow up to archers. No matter what you choose, consider dropping a second TC at some point. I usually do it as soon as I can after getting my castle age archery upgrades.

I think going through what counters each unit and what's its countered bye is a good one for sure. And maybe play the civs alphabetly each day going from Aztecs and so on I think would be fun and good for beginners 👍
