That 71 flex planter is all you need. No fancy electronics to cause stress and problems. Just remember to check the spring fingers every year before starting planting. Making sure they snap back down freely. I had no luck with those depth band wheels, mine were always falling off. Still plants the same without them.
I never change them in the middle of the field…run them flat all the way to the edge. The tires a complete wreck once it reaches the edge…end up spending $300 on a new tire instead of 20 bucks on a patch, because of my laziness.
@farmerpete0768 oh what’s this? Pivot saftied out? Okay just hold down safety over-ride switch. Hope it makes it to the edge. If not, you’ll probably be hearing some metal bending and breaking soon enough.
@@reddyediesel gotcha, I just planted fall plant DNS in a couple fields this fall, but wheat is not worth a bunch of money at the moment. Another field I planted this fall to oilseed radish for a green manure, planning on putting corn in there around April. After you mentioned the fall peas, I thought it might be a crop worth growing
