I like to challenge the notion that we know from whence we come. Yes I knew the general story about African American history but not until I started doing genealogy did I appreciate the particular stories of my family. Yes, we share similar stories but there are some stories tahat are unique to my family and I sure that each African American family has a unique story within the great African American story.

This is a movie I have been very excited about I knew it was going to be out this year and out of nowhere like days ago I start seeing the trailer every where and can’t get away from it and it’s out next week I’m shocked it looks great
Fun fact, Samuel L Jackson appeared in the 1987 production of the original play, when he was still relatively unknown. He went in to star in the 2023 Broadway revival in a different role, and now he's in the Netflix adaptation! Cool huh?
This looks like it ms gonna be awesome & definitely gives a touch of horror psychopath vibes which that is Joker but it just feels like a darker version than we’ve ever seen on the big screen!

There are zero records of him being a samurai. In addition to that, no record can be found of him owning any land or fiefs. He was a black man in Japan, not a samurai. if you want to talk about history go do some research. This is the AC style, taking famous names and locations and events and building a fantasy story around it. Nothing wrong with it, but that's what it is. He served as a kosho for a short period, but was never a samurai.
@@carsonkouts he was a ratanor for the nobunaga clan and trained under them for like 2-3 years from slavery then abandoned them and only has traces here in there after that but yes he's not a full fledged samurai but what blows my mind about the hate he's getting is people acting like he doesn't exist at all when he did or upset at him being black in general or going well technically he didn't receive the full training so he's not a samurai even though no one said he was he could have stolen that armor before joining the assassin's a man wearing armor does not equal samurai and we don't know how Ubisoft is gonna go with his departure from that clan yet so judging something just because of the man's skin color and the clothes he's wearing is 100% racist more so when these people have 0 context to what they are going to do story wise for him it's very clear he goes into battle and doesn't agree with something that happens what that is who knows we won't know until the game comes out this November so people need to stop judging things based on skin color this is not woke the man actually existed there is history books speaking of him woke is editing history to fit a narrative this is the opposite this actually happened and the guy was real
@@carsonkouts ok and as I said no one is saying he is he's got the gear that's all he was clearly working with samurai you really gonna sit here and act like this is the 1st act game some dude steals another dudes gear and walks around wearing through out the game black legit starts with you jacking a dudes hood then stealing his reward money as you steal not 1 but 2 ships and the guards armor aboard the 2nd one Conner was gifted his when he was just a child and not even all the way done with training Kassandra and alexios start in literal rags practically and steal gear as they go through there story and evor is just handed his gear by dag on an island and told I took these from a dead guy hear you go like really this is not the 1st time they done this

If you actually read my initial comment you'd see I said "and there's nothing wrong with that, AC games have always taken real names or events and changed them and added to them". my comment was replying to the comments stating he was the first black samurai in history, which is factually incorrect
Bro, as a person of color myself, I AGREE 100 PERCENT with you about the whitewashing stuff. It's totally true, but that doesn't make this right. Latinos/Hispanic (non white) make up the next highest demographic in the USA, and it's growing exponentially, yet every time I tune to a piece of media or art telling the story of a specific historical time period (fiction or not), they add in some black people. Let me ask you...where is my Latino Norse god? My latino Viking? Ann Bolyn, a white british aristocrat was played by a black person. Achilles...black. Zues...black. All those examples I listed are real! Should I be crying that playing as a japanese samurai that It lacks "representation" for Latinos? You know when I say it that why it sounds ridiculous, and absurd. Of course the answer would be "why would there be a latino norse god?" Diversity and so called "representation" ONLY applies to blacks...specifically African Americans, not even people FROM Africa! Also the way they depicted the Japanese woman is disgraceful. Japanese women are beautiful with femine and petite features. They don’t look androgynous goblins with the jawline of Brock lesnar. Looks like many Japanese people are outraged by this. It’s fair. Imagine if they made a video game on the black panther movement and depicted the hero as a white Jewish man who was an ally. It is genuinely pandering. Most people would be happy to play as yasuke but he shouldn’t be the only male protagonist. They should have had a male Japanese samurai which literally made up 100% of samurai. Yasuke was actually a squire

Her character is a major part of Norrin Radd and his story...she is his love interest and he agreed to become the herald to save her and her people from Galactus. SS also shared his power with at one point and she also became a SS....so yeah its not a big change that Marvel is doing here it is part of the comics
