SaltWaterSalmon: We gillnet Bristol bay Alaska for WILD SOCKEYE. We love hunting, mostly in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. My awesome Small Munsterlander Pointer is always by my side.
What are you guys using??? I fish ibek and alaganic and the coho and 6/10 times they bite then I don’t get anymore forever. I live right by AK outfit co and the salmon stack up on my beach and if wanted you can pet them. That combo creates trout that love the salmon eggs
@@emmettkennedy8388 morning. This fish was caught on a red cobras #4(if memory serves) BUT, those chartreuse Vibrax spinners in 4 or 5 are flat out fish killers. I do see a lot of folks using a bit of red yarn in their setup for Ibek creek…
The easiest way to make red caviar ( slightly salted caviar test ): boil water, drop Ukrainian salt, put piece of fresh cleaned potato , as soon as potato will go to top of water, stop salting water and boiling., You will need this salt water with regular room temperature. Drop red eggs into salt water you made and keep it in about 5 minutes or 4:00 depends of water salt concentration ( it's extremely important ). You can start tasting eggs after 4 minutes if you want to get red caviar with low salt test. After that remove red caviar from salt water and wash eggs under room temperature by running water from the tap to get rid of rest of salt remaining on the eggs. then put eggs on paper towels to make them a little dry ( 40 minutes ), use spray with grape seeds oil ( a little ). Put red caviar in jars and keep it refrigerated. or put in freezer ( if you want to eat it within one year ). To separate eggs from the skin: water 50-60 C, keep eggs in warm water by rubbing eggs by hands slightly . Then wash it couple of times. Guys ! You can make it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's hard to think of porcupines living in that area. I run into them quite a bit hunting grouse in the U.P. of Michigan. Luckily my dog has never bothered with them but I've seen the disaster they can cause on dogs that push their luck. Nice pair of Munsters.
@@davidcudlip6587 yeah, I just returned from a week in Montana where one of the golden retrievers ended up with a face full of quills. Not as bad as it could have been though! 🍻
@@holdenclark2894 There are many tribes that participate in this fishery but it is not a tribal only fishery. It’s run by the State of Alaska and we have to buy a permit to catch’m.
@@michaeldelrossi4487 oh I shimmed the shim right out of this gun. Only thing left is to start stocking those shims or send it to Rob Robert’s or back to Benelli to get fixed. It clearly doesn’t shoot right. TBH, this fix is not a permanent solution…as pointed out by a viewer…”if that collar doesn’t have the proper support, it’ll fail sooner or later”…
I am confused on the shims, could you help me? The book makes it sounds like you need a plastic cast and plastic drop shim. I took mine apart and I had one plastic shim near trigger and one steel shim by the butt. Am I crazy, I just need one plastic and one steel?
Hey, I'm in Mexico at the moment and can't offer you lot of time or meaningful guidance, but I think the Benelli video is pretty helpful. Hopefully you haven't seen it yet...short answer is you only a little crazy! LOL. It took me a minute to wrap my head around what goes where also....here's that vid from the manufacturer...ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-alYJH66tN18.htmlsi=F9wX9GaM3n4kc2On
@@SaltWaterSalmon I think I am good. I adjusted the shim. I shot trap last night and shot 66%. With the stock shim I shot 18%. I think I am set for Duck Season. When you shot 18%... it will make you CRAZY!!
I guess I must have the only one that doesn't shoot high, I just bought it this week and patterned 2 days ago. I would say that I'm pretty close to 50/ 50 at 25 yards within modified choke installed. Now mine is a 20 gauge SBE 3 Be.s.t. and I love it. 🤔👍
@@Opiemus glad to hear it! Another fellow commented a few days ago that Benelli told him the issue was fixed this past year. I just need to send mine in for a little tweak…
@@SaltWaterSalmonmaybe that's the case cuz like I said I just bought it last week. And I am aiming Dead on and not using the European style of aiming at 6:00 . I was prepared to adjust it with shims but didn't need to. By the way I see you comment you just bought a Stoeger I just bought on the 6th of this month and sent it back to them this past Friday because the forearm had a crack in it. It's a pretty gun with the Walnut stock and burnt bronze cerakote barrel. I was pretty happy with it but it's not nearly as reliable as the Benelli, at least not yet I've only shot 21 shows through it. 😉
I was debating on a SBE 3 wood or a new Browning A5 Hunter, this video made the decision much easier. Browning A5 all the way, the design/looks/no polymer will age better anyway.
Enjoy! Ps, when was the gun manufactured? I just called Benelli and they said the newer production guns don’t have this issue. Not so sure I believe that.
I guess I'm better at managing my money than most fishermen. Never put my crewshare up my nose or bought a jackwagon on 37" tires so I can roll coal when passing a Prius....just saying. What did you do with your crewshare?
@@SaltWaterSalmon same, 2016 was my last year there too. Quantum leap was famous for being ridiculously overpowered. Most jet boats have one or two engines, Lucas had 3 454 v8s.
Thanks for your videos. This reminds me one time fishing the strawberry entrance in Cordova. We still had an hour in the period and pulled the net due to high wind and tide opposing, breakers forming, and the danger of the bar closing.
If this info was available when I had mine I would have tried it. Loved the gun until I hated it. Mine shot even higher than yours did. Solid 12 inches of the bottom of the pattern at 20 yards. I sold it. Went back to the trust 50/50 shooting maxus.
daaang! Yeah, I bought a Stoeger, $300 gun that shoots where I point it! Lol. Maybe I will send this SBE3 to Rob Roberts and see what they can do with it...
Value can come in many ways, even in an off- year as it did for me. Just leaving AKN now and I wasn’t ready to be done when CRS and north line stopped buying fish. Love the vid and ur bow picker looks like a sweet machine! Mahalos
@@dq96708 I had the time and the energy to stay late this year! Had an issue with the port engine’s after cooler and had to put it on the blocks sooner than I would have liked 🤦🏻♂️ Glad you were able to fish late!
@@kenaidog6974 so I get quite a few comments of this nature. Problem is that we’ve NEVER had a backlash doing a speed set….so we have that going for us. I have blown up the drum motor which is significantly more of a pain than a backlash…
That poor van, she died this year! Yeah we had a decent season...would have been nice to start fishing everyday...a few tides earlier! We needed another pop to break 200k. Also it didn't help that the port after cooler started leaking, that ended our season a few days early!
@@Scheib907 yes there is, I’m not sure when it is…99%+ of the permit holders are gone whenever it closes…the real end of the season is when the processors quit buying…
