i knew the fk8 had awesome suspension design and geometry ... but i didn't truly appreciate it until i broke a strut bolt and had to disassemble the entire front left assembly to replace the strut top 😂 it is insanely over engineered and difficult to take apart/assemble but it does its job damn well..
Toyota ideas stink in terms of marketing..IVE ALWAYS HATED “F-SPORT”, and the “F” …its freaking confusing unless you are a Lexus fan. They should have just called it something else..it would be like Mercedes calling something AMG Sport…Its a dumb idea and its why they don’t do it. …Ugh , love Toyota reliability but they stink at marketing….KIlling the ISF, then coming with the GSF (which was a fail), then the RCF …when they have built no following. The M3 has the following and they sell the M in 4 door and Coupe…Who the hell thought it would be a great IDEA to kill the ISF in 2012 basically then wait years to come with IS500, after the GSF failed. And no one wants an RCF because it only has 2 doors…and no following to buy it. Toyota just does DUMB stuff like that
Help guys! Looking either to buy a GSF, ISF or a IS 500. Points to take in consideration: I have never driven any of them. Budget is not an issue. I don't care about how old is it. This will be my secondary daily car. I drive a 2017 Lexus LX 450 V8 diesel and it will still be my primary daily car. I want the best V8 and sporty feeling. I need to put at least 17 inch wheels with big tires because in my country streets are pretty bad. What would you choose if you guys where me?
This was pretty cool! I just picked up an IS 500 last weekend. Infrared with black interior. I am so in love and have been geeking out about technical stuff like this. Cheers!
4:08 the isf has a weeping waterpump, you can see the pink coolant. Might want to get that fixed. If it's an 08 I believe it has a recall for that in some places. But at the least, there is a service bulletin for it.
I miss circa 1999-2005 those were the good days. Maybe I was just young (18 in 2001) but the scene was just different then. So much has changed. Shit you can't even buy tuner mags anymore.
The people that compare them are the ones that never drove either or just one then say the ISF the ISF it’s like comparing a fox body mustang to todays things change they didn’t bring up all the emissions differences that causes the ISF to feel faster or “better”.
IS 500 is beautiful.. it is making the price of my completely stock (kept in my A/C garage) 30K mile 2012 ISF Nebula Gray Pearl, red interior, do nothing but go up. :)
It's a cool car but it's completely unattainable for anyone who takes their personal finances seriously. Also if I have $45k sitting around to buy a used performance car, it ain't gonna be spent on a Honda Civic. Most people who can afford this car are older and wouldn't be caught dead taking a client out to lunch or pulling up to the office in something like this.
You are right. It takes a deep passion and understanding for someone to spent the money on buying the Type R. A person that knows the history of Honda Red Badge, Vtec, their reputation in the track, and also a real man because its a 3 pedal. Nevertheless, its a good car that are a master at FWD. Some bought it for passion that they have for Type R, some bought it because of the looks, some bought it because its a track ready car, some bought it for collection, some bought it bcoz they have too much money to spent, reliability benefits aside, well conti cars are problematic. There are too many reasons to say, but the Type R is never a wrong choice in its class.
