... just getting into MSFS... waiting for last controls to arrive, which marketplace you referring to ? I'm mid way deciding to learn to fly rotor on the Ronbinson (which is also used locally by schools) or the Cabri G2 which I actually more like... (wish they were used locally)
@@HeliSimDriver pls understand my logic... if I'm ever able to get the money together to fly real. Due to local schools I will prob start on a R22, it's the the heli of choice for schools, after which thinking of "upgrading" to turbine craft.
@@stew3132 You obviously need to buy Simrig actuators to use their software which is available in their website. Once you have the actuators and the software, then you need to download the free FlyPtMover software. Just google it and you'll find it. Simrig software by itself does not really support airplanes or helicopters. It's mostly for car racing and they have one entry for a Cessna. That's why you also need Flyptmover software.
Yeah, I have the simrig sr2...that's why I asking if you could share the profile but I see you are using flypt...I have that downloaded when I had a sfx 100...may give it try also...didn't even realize I could use...
@@user-xt8ew8cj8o no specific reason except that I do not want to keep deciding which one is better every time I fly, and most of the time, I prefer Bing anyway
Very good Maurice! How systematic you are. I noticed that you have a high FPS, an average 50! Apparently, you have a top-notch Ring (CPU and GPU). I'm glad to see you.😊😊
Thank you! Yes, I do have a very high end system…I9 13900K and an RTX 4090, but the fps you see is from the 2D replay and not what I had when flying in VR. I usually get about 40+ when in VR depending on location, so nothing to complain about for sure😊
I think I practiced about 50 landings without wind before I added wind. Even then, at least half of the landings in this video did not have all wheels on the skid. There are only a few inches on each side of the main wheels, so accuracy is very important and very hard to keep the heli absolutely steady. It's my excuse and I'm sticking to it 🙂
I had a very similar experience to you. I feel that my countless hours of MSFS and Xplane made the real thing much easier. I just felt like I had to use a lot of force to move the cyclic. I'm curious how hydraulics would feel eg, in the R44. I've only had one Discovery flight too.
I think the R44 would definitely be easier because of the hydraulic assist. I still want to try a lesson in the 44 once I can justify spending over $600 for one hour 🙂
It's nice to see high resolution Abbotsford. When zi and there my gpu makes BCHflicopters look like it took a direct hit from a tornado.😢 You make Abby home base? Might see me bcsimpilot online
Hi MB...Abby-ite here too. How do you get your controls mapped so you have such good flights? I have the MD500e and its a wild bronco to me...even. Not bad on the Cabri...
I don’t think it has anything to do with how I map the controls. I use the same mapping on all the helicopters (no curves). But what makes a big difference are the controls themselves. I use Maxflightstick heli controls and these make it much easier to control the helicopter with just tiny movements needed on the stick. That’s the key to avoid over controlling and getting into oscillations.
I liked the Google, but it gave me issues and I'm new in msfs, so I went back to Bing. But after watching this video, I'm glad I went back. For now, at least. Well done and thank you.
I was planning to do it, but I was waiting for free or payware scenery as the default MSFS scenery is not that good there. I think it is available now, so stand by.🙂
Maurice, I saw a comment you made on a video entitled “The scientist beginning to doubt the theory of evolution”. I was wondering if you would be open to discussing this.
Nothing to do with the cyclic. This is a replay of the recording and the recording software introduced the jerking of all the controls. Something to do with the fact that MSFS did not yet support helicopters at that time.
I actually have been there quite a few times in my good old c172m while living and working in the Yukon. Always followed by a trip to the Red Dog Saloon. A bowl of roasted peanuts on every table and you were expected to throw the shells on the floor. Thanks for the memories mate and cheers.
The glaciers around Juneau are truly amazing. It was nice flying over them even virtually. I would never have the guts to fly over them in real life in a single engine helicopter as I would not relish ending up at the bottom of a crevasse in case of engine failure 😂 . So virtually is good enough for me 😊
@@HeliSimDriver The ones on the way from Whitehorse to Anchorage are even better. I gotta admit I upgraded to a c337p before I did much flying over there, lol!
