She’s annoying. Just put your music on streaming. Not all of us are rich. At least put the option to pay only on DSPs. It makes no sense to download the albums if I have no where to play them…
04:05 When I was in college, there was a trumpet player who was an excellent musician on a technical level. She was one of the best sight readers in the music program …. destined for a career in a major symphony orchestra. She also held the 2nd trumpet chair in one of the jazz orchestras. This particular orchestra focused on transcribed arrangements of classic recordings by Mel Lewis/Thad Jones, Basie, Mingus, Lionel Hampton, etc. She rarely “soloed” when playing in the jazz orchestra . But when she did, she always transcribed the solo from the classic recordings and played it verbatim. I will never forget watching her grab her sheet music and go to the front of the stage for a “feature “ during a concert. The music starts and everything was going great …… UNTIL she realized the last few choruses of her”solo” were still back at her seat in the trumpet section. She froze, started yelling , stomping, and screaming. Then ran from the stage, down the aisle though the audience (a couple of hundred were in attendance). That was the end of her foray into jazz. 😂😂😂😂😂
I remember Pino catching the train at Cardiff and playing the Stowaway night club in Newport with the Tony Etoria group in South Wales most Saturdays during the early 80’s😎
I was there this year and honestly it was one of the best experiences of my life. It was my first time going this year. Can’t wait to come back to the Fort next year!!
LOVE all that young energy! Jazz is alive, growing and evolving with young talented, creative artists and young appreciative audiences, blending with seasoned creative artists and appreciative audiences--a true continuum!
