Cruise lines are getting better at showing the full cost including taxes, fees and port charges with a breakdown but that doesn't include the gratuities/tips of $20 per person per day. 🛳 Any excursions you book will cost extra too.
@@taste4travelorg The only cookies I ate, were the ones the room steward left in our suite. I did not dine at the buffet --Only 8-specialty and 2- main dining restaurants. This port intensive trip gave us an opportunity to eat local and in port which was delish.
Thank you we appreciate the ship tour. We cruise on Friday 8/30 for 10-nights. This will be my first ime on the NCL Sun and itenaray could not be beat for Alaskan cruise. As for traveling on an older ship being inexpesive -- we are upward 7K p/p to include Free At Sea Plus, Daily port excursions and etc. (All the featurs we use full tilt). Especially, water, Pelligrino, a bottle of wine at all restaurants, and all starbucks coffees). Additinaly unlimeded internet for two and $50.00 p/p off shore excursions -- not to mention 8 speciality dining credits. Desalinated water is just not our jam! What month and year did you travel?
Wow, good for you! You're going to have a great time! We went 2 months ago in June-we had really great weather, didn't get much rain at all. I think you'll see more wildlife (bears) out at this time of year. Have a great trip!🛳😎
@@taste4travelorg Indeed, the weather was so mild. For this port intevnsive cruise we experienced excrusions planned every dayy (hikes, walks, helicopters, gondolas, canoes, school buses, motor coach and fishing boats). We walked on 3-glaciers, saw whales, bears, sea lions, moose, otters, blad eagles, foraged for berries, and more water than we could swallow/swim and trees we could possibly climb. We ate local seafood daily at some great restaurants (as none is served on-board the ship). I had a carry-on and over packed, did not need 85% of the winter and or rain gears I purchased for this trip and gifted it to an female entertainer who was my size -- as I would not need any of this clothing in Miami. Overall, we enjoyed the outdoor and off-ship activities❗
I just got off the Sun. It was a disaster. I had so many problems with the ship and how it was being run. I’ll never step foot on another NCL ship again. The crew onboard were absolutely oustanding and the food was really tasty. But Norwegian really needs to rethink on how they run their ships before i think about ever returning. The day we got back was rushed and they temporarily lost some of our luggage.
Sorry to hear that, there are always things that can be improved. Sometimes tenders and shuttles run into delays/problems - we always allow extra time for that. We had a great time on our Alaska cruise!🛳
@@cherieemmanuellethe womens restroom on deck 6 aft kept overflowing and ended up flooding. Our Stateroom had a loose plug and the hairdryer stopped working. As well as the toilet stopped flushing for a bit due to a plumbing issue. Be forwarned.
@@jansmith8974 Not my first cruise but yes I’m going on the 27th. Never been on Norwegian before. I hear they try everything to get you to spend more money so be careful. Not everything is included in the price. I will be pushing my mom in a wheelchair so she doesn’t poop out.
Nice video. We will be in Alesund in early Oct. Do you think we should buy the HOHO bus ticket in advance? We did look at the Trollstigen Tour, but because of rocks falling, they have been closing the road and it has not been reopen and probably won't for this year. That's why we decided to see the Alesund.
Great video! Raffaello Ristorante is the BEST in town! Can't wait for Harbor West to be open! Grew up here, currently living here, I love this little town and cannot wait to see it grow further :) Sidenote: Sunken city is very dangerous, consistently having emergencies and unfortunate deaths there for any visitors, keep safe PLEASE!
@@taste4travelorg I am too! I know a lot of locals who are wary of the developments at west harbor and if it is going to be accessible for the town or be too much of a upscale tourist destination, I hope the developers do find a happy middle ground.
We stayed in an air B&B, great location, very nice place...Be forewarned that it's a 5 story walk up!! It's tough when carrying luggage or if anyone has knee/mobility problems etc. Enjoy your cruise! 😃🛳 www.airbnb.com/rooms/18993442?guests=1&adults=1&s=67&unique_share_id=c49d9ff9-521f-4a35-978f-24ef6e01c11e
Hi! Who and where did you pay for the shuttle/skylift? Approx what time do you recommend to do the shuttle? Our 7 year old would probably like the train tour. Is it possible to do it in addition to the skylift? Thanks!
Hi Mark, It was so convenient in Olden-they had a local Norwegian tour company with a lot of staff to answer questions and book tours and take credit cards, they were set up right at the cruise port. The skylift option had shuttles every half hour so you can stay for a long or short time up top, ask the staff what time each tour starts, you can probably do both. It depends how long you're at port and what time you're due back. Just make sure you get back to the ship on time. 😃🚢Enjoy your trip, it's so beautiful there!!
