I understand that 1) curcumin is soluble in fatty oils such as coconut oil (actually an ingredient of golden milk recipe). 2) Adding pepper (another ingredient of the recipe) greatly amplifies some effects of the turmeric. Right?

We asked the principal researcher, Trisha Andrew, about this, and she shared that barium sulfate is not harmful if ingested or in contact with skin. Inhaling lots of barium sulfate dust can lead to a benign lung condition called baritosis, but the amount you would need to inhale is far more than you could reasonably be exposed to from a garment, so the inhalation risk is low.
I wonder if there are any negative effects to humans from the added chemicals. Seems highly likely they could leach out caused by heat and perspiration.
The particles are embedded in the coating, and researchers did not observe them significantly leaching out during laundry, abrasion or sweat tests. Calcium carbonate is commonly found in the form of chalk or antacid tablets, and barium sulfate is ingested during certain types of medical imaging.
