went on this ship July 27 to August 3. The ship was beyond amazing! Your short video did a great tribute to the many parts of the ship to keep people occupied while not on an excursion in Alaska. Wish I would have stopped at some more of these spots on the ship, but it was so huge, and I only had a week!
The Tamarind was a real highlight, don't miss it!! The Dutch Cafe has been well discovered and the lineups can be long. Be patient it will be well worth it! The Casino has some newer machines but still needs updating. If you spend some time and money there you will be surprised with a complimentary drink. Don't hesitate to enquire. Great tips, thanks for sharing. We certainly want to come back to Alaska again some time soon, it’s literally the other side of the planet for us, so a bit harder to do often, but we fell in love and hope to be back again soon.
I really like the beds, amazing linen and I always sleep well. Some say the beds are too hard, but you can request a mattress topper from house keeping, and I’ve heard others say that’s helped them sleep better if they found the bed too hard.
My cabin is going be 8168 show star on deck plan,and says sofa bed,we are old and can't be doing with sofa as bed,can you tell me if this is true or have I looked wrong loved this video xx
Hi, I'm not 100% sure myself sorry, but the main bed will aways be a standard bed, typically the noted bed, i.e. the sofa bed will be the bed for the third/fourth person. So I wouldn't worry. Your booking confirmation will say what the main bed is i.e. twin/double.

Cruised on Ambition last October. Ship quite cosy , evening meals very disappointing and entertainment, which we usually enjoy was very, very poor, too much singing and not enough good dancing. No real scenery or decent backdrops not as advertised on television

You are in for a treat. I love all cruises, but there’s something special about Virgin Voyages. Did you book direct or with an agent? If direct I can look to see if I can take over the booking and get you some extra loot to enjoy when onboard.
Non suite beds are hard as a rock. Designed to convert to a sofa. Disaster if you have back problems. Ask for a couple of toppers and another king quilt. A couple of king fitted sheets helps to hold it together. A really poor design flaw.
I can see how it would be an issue for some people, but I actually think the Sea Bed is one of the best nights sleeps at sea. I always sleep really well and typically don't like a hard bed. But as you say, you can always ask for extra toppers and pillows etc.
Hi, so Virgin ships follow the sun, so there really isn’t a bad time to sail with them, it’s more about where you want to sail than anything. The lowest prices will be the shoulder season, so Feb and September for Caribbean, then May/Oct for Europe. But it’s best to work out where you want to sail, then find the right itinerary. I don’t think Virgin Voyages will be a good choice of cruise line for you. Or socialising with the wider world if this is your biggest take away from the video.
It’s the same, but with a view of the ocean. (I don’t have a video of that loo of the ocean, but I have photos of the other loos with a view of the ocean).
Totally agree an amazing journey. We did the big loop Vancouver to Vancouver. My only complaint was the Gold leaf carriage from Banff to Vancouver was not the same as the carriage you showcase. It was on the trip from Vancouver to Jasper. The second part of our journey was clearly old rolling stock , no leather seats with automatic control, the windows of the seating area were smaller and the view was obscured by a panel. Just had a much older feel to it. This was disappointing considering what we paid, felt as though we were downgraded. Also since this leg was only half full there were only 2 staff and they both did upstairs and the dining room , so pretty hectic for them.
Sadly, it sounds like you were in the Silver Leaf carriage for that leg. It may have been a maintenance issue perhaps as the Gold Leaf train wasn't available. I've heard it happen the otherway, where someone paid for Silver Leaf, but got a Gold Leaf carriage. Hope it didn't put too much of a downer on what sounds like an incredible trip.
Given her age, she's looking beautiful! I remember Ambassador getting a bit of a mixed review when they launched, but she's looking lovely (especially the top deck!)
I prefer this video so much to many others on here, that use lots of different angled shots and lots of cuts. It's a lot easier to understand the layout of the room when you do it as you've done it. Great video!
Very comprehensive tour and very informative. It looks bright and spacious. I've noticed the prices look very competitive so will definitely take a look next year.
