Hello, I am reading through your website I just wanted to thank you for all the time and effort you have put into helping others. I am a mother of a toddler and a 7 year old. I know nothing about skiing in Switzerland but I really wanted to have a 4 days trip with my lil ones in a ski resort. I have been searching for about a week now and there seems to be too much to learn I’m confused and overwhelmed. In your website you even mention which bus stop to take to arrive to the resort easily ❤❤❤ Thank youuu!!! This is extremely helpful. Bless you and your loved ones
Nice hiking, video and your blog. I have three questions hope you can help: (1) Can we buy the mountain bus ticket from the driver (using credit card)? I am going to Interlaken and Grindelwald for a few days in September. I plan to hike from Grindelwald First to Bachalpsee Lake, then to Waldspitz, and take bus 127 to Grindelwald. I have booked saver day pass. But it seems that saver day pass does not cover mountain bus. Because the bus is very infrequent, I don't want to pre-book bus. So I am wondeing if can buy bus ticket from driver (if I catch the bus). (2) Does saver day pass get discount on Grindelwald gondola or mountain bus? (3) Does Interlaken guest card (the one that hotel provide to guests) get discount on Grindelwald gondola or mountain bus? Many Thanks in advance!
Grindelwald First is such a beautiful area! The Marmot Trail sounds like an amazing hike, especially with the extension to Rosenlaui Glacier Gorge. Thanks for sharing this - definitely adding it to my list for when I’m in Switzerland! Cheers, Simon - Tales From Abroad
We took the dangerous trail on a rainy late Sept day. While I can’t say I found it hard, the footing was pretty sketchy in certain parts and the drop offs were dramatic at points. The worst part about it was that my wife’s hiking legs were not in great shape and her knees and thighs were super sore for days from prolonged downhill-walking which is not something that many people are conditioned for. I think it is for that reason, where possible, a lot of native Swiss hike up mountains and take gondolas down.
Hi, thank you for creating this video! Super helpful :) How long can I expect the whole trip to take with short stops for rest/snacks/exploring the area? I am also traveling with my parents so won't be doing a lot of hiking.
I have been following you on youtube for the past few days. I love all your videos. I need a suggestion on our October trip to Europe. This is our first Euro trip and we have a 5 year old kid. We are landing in Paris from India and staying for 5 days (Disneyland 2 days). How would it be to visit Switzerland after that? Would the weather be fine? We had earlier planned for Paris plus Italy ( Venice, Amalfi Coast, Rome, Pisa) in 2 weeks. But the over-tourism and tourist scam news scared us. Your suggestions would be helpful.
I saw another youtuber recently share this area, and I immediately fell in love. I booked a flight within 24 hours, and plan to go for 4 days of hiking in the area in the spring. :) I'm surprised it's not more popular on social media, but really glad too!
My wife does nit like taking gondolas so we end up hiking everywhere 😂 Do you know anything about hiking down from the lake to the train station in the valley?
Wow!!! Gorgeous hike & very well done video! Eager to explore more of Liechtenstein! We usually stay in Canton Glarus & like the castle hike in Balzers Liechtenstein. We will try this hike this fall. Love your videos! Thank you!! Marion & Jan
thank you for this awesome video, i'm going to follow it for my trip next month!! where do you recommend to get dinner after? and dinner budget is not an issue thank you so much!!
OMG, those useless masks! A sign of the times. Hi Tanya, I enjoyed your video. I've been up Monte Tamaro numerous times with my family and friends. Cheers!
Hi! I noticed you did both a boat tour and a hike of the calanques. I am only visiting for a day and only have time to do one or the other. Based off your experience, which would you recommend? Did you feel like one was a cooler experience than the other or that you got to see more with one of them? Thank you!
Hi Tanya, have you tried the Schächentaler Höhenweg? Hike from Klausenpass to Eggberge. It's EXTREMELY beautiful, but quite long (21.9km or 13.6 miles); but mostly downhill. How do to that: 1.) Park the car at valley station of "Luftseilbahn Flüelen Eggberge" (Flüelerstrasse 132, 6460 Altdorf, Schweiz). Pay for parking. 2.) Take a bus, or Walk about 30 min to "Telldenkmal Altdorf", Rathausplatz, 6460 Altdorf 3.) Take Bus 408 from Telldenkmal to Klausenpass, departs 07:41 or 09:41 or 11:41) The 07:41 and 11:41 depart 22 June to 22 September. The 09:41 departs 22 June to 22 October. But I recommend the earliest possible bus. Bus takes 1 hour + to Klausenpass. 4.) From Klausenpass, hike to Eggberge, 21.9km 5.) Take the cable car down. ("Luftseilbahn Flüelen Eggberge"). The last one departs at 8 p.m. from the mountain to the valley.
