Having experienced The Haven many times, I can confidently say it's worth the splurge. After staying in regular cabins, I've become spoiled by The Haven's exceptional amenities. We absolutely love The Haven-the food, the lounge, the pool, everything about it. One of the standout features of The Haven on NCL is the incredible service. From the butler service and daily snacks to the beautiful Haven lounge and courtyard compound, it's the little things that make it special. The staff's friendliness is remarkable-they know your name and book your dinner reservations in advance, adding a personal touch to the experience. On older ships like the Breakaway, Escape, the Joy, Encore, and Bliss, The Haven truly shines. These ships offer the best Haven experience. However, I wasn't as thrilled with The Haven on the Prima and Viva. The design and feel are different, and it just didn't hit the mark for us. Even though The Haven is amazing, it's also nice to explore the whole ship and try different dining options and specialty restaurants. If you get bored with dining at the same restaurant, there are plenty of other options to explore. We especially love the spa and the thermal suite, even though the prices have been going up. It's still a fantastic experience. If you can afford to spend a little extra, booking The Haven is absolutely worth it. I remember one dinner at The Haven on the Joy when the server offered me two lobster tails. I was surprised and thrilled! And the table next to us? They had three lobster tails. Amazing, right? From embarkation to disembarkation, the Haven on NCL truly elevates cruising experience to a whole new level.
We booked with cruise brothers travel agent and they screwed us. We wanted to book on our own couldn’t get my gift certificate back or get our rooms released it was such a headache! I will never book with a travel agent again
For drinking package is worth it, I had over 90 drinks on my last cruise of different stuff from piña coladas to beer to shots of fireball. If you were to put those 90 drinks at $10 a pop, that would be $900. My drinking package wasn’t even $600 for the eight days I went to the Bahamas.
what a stupid reason ncl is trying to pull, the haven hot tubs are used by over ONE HUNDRED PEOPLE per day seven days a week. they are never closed due to sanitary reasons, what a joke.they wait till 48 hours before the cruise to inform passengers they cant use there hot tubs, then your stuck with that room with no recourse. this is the most fraudulent move in cruising history.
just came off of the norwegian viva. i had the aft haven room with large balcony with hot tub, room is ha designation. two days before departure i was emailed that i cant use the hot tub except for one hour a day,yet the public hot tubs were open all day.. no explanation no refunds wouldnt change my room nothing.the haven is very expensive and there custormer service is the worst. do not book that room you will be very angry dealing with norwegian staff. i am done with them, there are plenty of other cruise lines with much better service and staff.
WoW, that is quite frankly unacceptable. Thanks for the info. I'm curious if other cruise lines will follow suite. NCL is going to lose loyal cruisers over this.
Never one mention of the upcharges for numerous things from the butler and concierge! Glossing the Haven is what this channel is all about, by not telling the whole story!
We have done 7 NCL Havens and can say we have had excellent butlers and terrible Butlers. Example of a bad Butler on our first Haven , we didnt see him until day 4 of 7 and only after I complained to the Consigniers. The Butler claimed that he thought our room was vacant. No tip. *** Haven Butlers are suppose to introduce themselves on day one and help you unpack and familiarize you with your room. Good Butler -- I got a bad Sunburn and there was no Sunburn relief lotion in the ships store, this Butler went to his cabin and gave me his own bottle of Sunburn relief lotion without me even asking. Big tip Bad Butler story , rarely seen the guy until the last day when he stopped me the last day to tell me that he brought candys and fruit to our room when we were out. No tip Good Butler story - Im a big guy, my Haven robe did not fit. The next day without asking the Butler had the ships tailor make me a xxl robe. Big tip. Same Butler asked me if I wanted him to assist me getting dressed for dinner and have my shoes polished. Even bigger Tip. Good Butler - One Haven voyage I just wanted to take one day to myself and chill out in my cabin and enjoy quiet time napping . The Butler came in and asked me if I was ill. Then he located my Wife on the sundeck and asked her if I was ill. Then he came in a second time and again wanted to know if I was ill. This Butler was genuinely concerned for my health and I thought this was special. Big tip. And lastly , the phone in your Haven suite can be carried anywhere on the ship and used to summons the Butler to attend to any needs you may have -- ANYWHERE ON THE SHIP 24 /7. The Butler has to give you his phone number which I attached to the phone. So Haven butlers can be hit or miss.😢
@@sharonwengler3225 I usually tip $10.00 per day for room steward and butler. The Haven resturant staff is tricky , there are alot of them and they are constantly rotating around. What we alway do on the final day is make sure to get the exact name of a Haven resturant staff member that has done a good job and fill out the outstanding employee card for them. If an employee gets so many good review cards they get better assignments and extra paid time off.
Please watch the recent video from Cruising with Ben and David on the Viva in the Haven and tell us it's not like they said about the Viva Haven being short staffed and not seeing the concierge or the concierge never answering the phone. I was going to go on the Viva in 2025 in the Haven, but that was not worth $10k+
Viva and Prima Haven is different than the older Breakaway Haven, bigger isn't better. People I know have said that the newer ships from NCL and RCCL (Icon of the Sea) are sort of meh on service compared to older ships due to the size problem. They don't know how to staff these monsters.
