Just finding this now after the whole park is demolished with some of the songs you have in this hurts the heart so many childhood memories at Upper Clements and I can't even pass them onto my own child just tell them about how we use to have something actually cool
it’s so sad that it’s gone forever. i saw the park after it had closed and there was so much vandalism, every window smashed, spray paint, freezers pulled out and garbage everywhere…it was so sad. it was so special to be able to visit when i was younger and it hurts my heart so much to think that we can never go back there again, it’s gone.
Wow, thanks for the upload. I live in Portland Estates and grew up there. I am only 37 so the Airshows died off when I was a teenager but I always loved having that show in my back yard. Its astonishing to see F14's, 15's, 16's on the tarmac in this video. Very cool!
Great video.....i have come across a radio recording of the Dental Clinic Of The Air sponsored by the Painless Parker system. ..sounds to me early to mid 30's. Quality is excellent....very interesting hearing Painless Parker system explained. Includes entertaining live musical acts between dental information. Anyone with more info on this please respond to me or the author of this video.
Hi, new here. I run a metal detector for a hobby here in WA and recently found a trade token from circa 1916 for a Blackman's Big Upstairs Store which was good for $1 off a purchase of $10 at the location on the second floor of the historic Warburton building at 11th and Broadway in Tacoma, WA. In my research, I came across a photo of the building with the name Painless Parker printed across it and started learning more about him. There is not much info regarding the years of operation of the Blackman store nor of Painless' subsequent occupation of the same retail space. I was wondering if you could fill me in on the latter, mainly when PP started and for how long he operated there above the drug store. I also found an advertisement for his practice in another historic building, the Drury building. Any information that you could provide me about when he moved locations would be helpful too. I tried to track down your book about him but it is darn near impossible. Regards, James. PS I enjoyed the history slideshow. Well done.
Hi Tough Run Metal Detecting. Thank you for your most interesting note. I will ask my co-author to answer your questions as he did the research in your area concerning Painless Parker's practices. I will also ask him if he could provide you with our book telling the entire story of Painless. I have copies but our postal rates to States are through the roof. Thank you again for your note. Cheers, Peter.

Hello Randy, And, thank you for contacting me and letting us know that you appreciate us telling the TRUE life story of your great grandfather, PAINLESS PARKER, the renegade dentist. Now, how do we tell your grandfather's story to California, where he spent the latter part of his very colourful and adventurous career?
Hello again Randy. You may wish to see an interview I did many years ago at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pwSHtYloOiI.html (quality of recording is not good)
Hi Peter, sitting her in the evening in the United Kingdom, good old England. I am a total vegas fanatic and so so glad I found your marvellous photos here. Just spent a good hour playing your photos here - turned the lights off and watched them on a big tv. I must admit they brought a tear to my eye - so many places gone now, and you captured them absolutely superbly. Your photos are wonderful. I was intrigued as to what film stock you used - I was wondering whether they were kodachrome as they kind of had that look and wonderful sharpness and vivid colour. All I can say is that's for uploading, and thanks for the memories - get them drum scanned and publish a book! Best wishes from the UK.
Hello Julian. I'm so pleased to learn that you enjoyed my Las Vegas slide photos. Yes, the slides were made using Kodachrome film. A little bit of history - I was at a three day conference and had to summarize the findings and conclusions on the final day. I spent all night going through reams of records taken from the two previous days of meetings. In order to stay wake I took time off to go out and photograph the night scenes every hour. I eventually put the day and night images into a twenty-four slide show sequence. Incidentally, I used a Rolleiflex 3003 with Zeiss lenses on a flimsy tripod. Thank you very much for reaching out to me. Warm wishes, Peter
Thanks for the reply Peter, my pleasure. I had did another roll of your work again today, as I enjoyed it so much yesterday. I can empathise with photographing Vegas. Been there a few times, and its always hard going walking the strip in the heat, carrying gear, dodging pedestrians and surviving from the city's excesses. I did a bit of research on your Rolleiflex 3003 - was this a camera that used medium format as well as 35mm film? Was the kodachrome 35mm? Looks very sharp. Out of all of your pics, I think the ones of the Sands are my favourite, particularly as I had a special affection for the place as I love the Rat Pack - I was too young to see all of this as didn't start going to vegas till 1999. Managed to step inside the Stardust and Frontier though. Many thanks again.
Dear Julian, Thank you again for your note. Please check out the following link for more information about the 3003: www.pacificrimcamera.com/rl/00432/00432.pdf. It was a great film camera, advanced for its time. I used this camera with many interchangeable 35 mm film backs when I flew over the Grand Canyon and was able to take many images (reference my You Tube upload about the Grand Canyon). Unfortunately, when I got caught in a sand storm in the Egyptian dessert, the camera got sand in it and wouldn't work after that even though it was frequently repaired. Kind regards, Peter
Awesome , I remember the days of the great airshows at shearwater , all summer long I counted down the days till September, great video ,brought back lots of memories .
@@Peter-Productions I appreciate them enough to have whole website of them, credited and dated - vintagelasvegas.com - I'd love to include a few of these. If you're up for it, please let me know via email vintagelasvegas.vlv@gmail.com
@@VintageLasVegas Hello, Sorry, I didn't see your request to include my Las Vegas images until now. You have my permission to use my images in your website - credited and dated as you stated. Best regards, Peter (maker of that You Tube upload.)
A lovely tribute to a wonderful place that I knew well and loved (and miss). David and Judy have created memorable experiences for so many of us. Thank you!
Hi SleekBeek (nice name) Sad - good or Sad - bad. Many changes ave occurred over the years -some like the changes other yearn for the park as seen in this video
Hi A.J - nicw shades RE: makes james hyper-suggest cotton candy, candied apples or other high power sugar foods. Solution: have James do several laps on the track in front of the go karts
Thank you for your comment. The changing Sky from our vantage point of 360 degrees is indeed magnificent and breath taking at all times of night and day.
Thank you 1darkcuda for your comment. Yes, it is now like a dream when I look back at it. It was an overload experience with so much to see. The large crowds and long line ups were a real negative.
Very Nice job. Steve is one of the nicest people you can ever meet. Proud to say my father played a small part in the Cinstruction of the Calliac Sallon. Looks great and was a very proud time for me dad and his family. Thank you to Steve!!!!
Thank you Victor. Yes I concur, Steve is one of the most gracious, nicest and generous people one can ever meet. Appreciate learning that your father played a role in the construction of the Cadillac Auto Salon, a most impressive venue to fittingly display Steve's Cadillac Collection.
