Great video! Really appreciate that you draw attention to some of the issues Hokkaido rivers are facing. I know as I explore my way through these waters, my heart breaks to see how many times over they can be dammed, redirected, polluted, and over-harvested.
thanks for the nice comment, there are some people doing big streamer fishing with Spey or switch rods, usually in big rivers (even on the shiribetsugawa in niseko: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r1h1qQFigUs.html ) and lakes. however, I focus on nymph and dry flies, as I personally find it more fun :D
Shiribetsugawa is really popular, fishing can be difficult because there are too many fisherman coming from all over japan. but as locals we manage to find beautiful places that often host great fish ! lets go fishing together ?
