About to to my first stay away show for years so this is really helpful thank you 😊 Ps. Have a look at packing cubes, especially the compression ones. Really help with organising your clothes in suitcase.
Loved it! Donny seemed so chilled. If I'd taken my Springer Spaniel, into the arena she would spook at everything!!!! The Golden would be chilled and cool as a cucumber and would have to show her the ropes.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🦮
Excellent training! I also love riding other horses to improve my own seat, so other riders on yours, and you on other horses is always a great leaning. ❤❤❤
This was perfect! Schooling livery for a month at Justine's would be great! I also think it shows what an excellent job you do making it look effortless when you ride him - a lot of credit deserved there, you do a great job!
Well done to Charlie for sending him forward, when he did that hump . Justine rode him so well as if your in the show ring. All the best with Donny's training ,good luck with all you do. Take care and all the best. 😊😊😊👍👍👍
Such a good idea but god he looks hard work sometimes 🤣 which just shows how good of a rider you are, especially in the show ring with him as he looks easy which is obviously what you want ❤ xx
He is probably going thru his teenage phase and the rude kicking will be gone next season. He does need to push more from behind and lift his core more though, like most young horses
You have to have a canter before you can adjust a canter he is not forward forget where his head is just now and switch the engine on Charlie did just that.
Poor Donny....he didn't know what had hit him....😂. Personally I think it's great to get other riders on your horses. Always love Charlie's attitude, get on with it! Great vlog. ❤
As usual really enjoyed. Loved seeing Justine & Charlie ride him. Giggled seeing Spud springing away in the riding paddock. Lastly, whish for your weather!!!!!!
Love Justine and Charlie. I guess you have had him checked out physically to ensure everything is ok!!! He just did not look as though his top line muscle could support the canter which of course needs him pulling up his tummy muscles. The left rein was bad but the right …… And it was interesting to see that with J and he was being MADE to come up off the forehand he could not hold the canter. And when C released the reins OR pushed him on into a longer stride naturally his neck stretches out and he could maintain the canter and then when he let go the reins absolutely out went his neck to release his back. So either there is a physical imbalance somewhere that needs adjustment or he is really not equally fit. The fact he chooses to counter canter is a worry. Interesting to follow 👏👏👏
He’s been full checked and xrayed. Hes a big horse with draught breeding and it takes them much longer to strengthen, than other breeds. He finds holding himself hard in canter but then most babies do. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
@@misscooper-showponies1220 I guessed that would be the case because J and C would have had same thought. He is a beautiful horse and I guess the best horses have a personality and I am sure that’s what raises them above the ordinary. Be fun to watch him grow. 😃
Donnie came from Ireland, and sadly there are still people here who throw a saddle on a three year old and start riding them, and have no regard for schooling (I had a terrible time finding something that wasn't a 5 y/o that had done 3 seasons of hunting!!) Maybe Donnie was started like that...? I used to ride a horse that would only canter on the right leg, he'd never been taught to canter left lead, and he'd buck/hunch up if you tried to make him! 😮
@@Siobhan_Shivaun he hasn’t ever been hunted thankfully but he was never schooled, just backed to hack and never taught to canter on each lead. He also was never shown poles or showjumps and was taught to jump over cross country fences so he lacks respect for showjumps xx
Donny was an absolute star! He behaved impeccably, even though he almost pulled your arms out!! You should be very proud of him on his first ever fun ride!! More p!ease!!
What absolute fun!!!! Thought Donny was terrific. Adored Spud. Hubby needs to watch that part. Mine is snoozing on the loveseat staying cool from this heatwave.
So well deserved! Well done to all of you 😄 extra gold star for mum bathing Finley, so lovely to have support. Can’t wait for Donny’s big winning day though I do love him 😍
