Exalting God's Greatness, Evangelizing God's World, Edifying, Equipping, and Empowering God's People to Express God's Love. Hearers and Doers of the Word. Rev. Dr. Gina M. Stewart, Senior Pastor
Jesus is not and was not a social justice warrior. He was oppressed nor a victim. This is a Marxist message. Jesus also didn’t care about social change because it’s nowhere in the Bible.
while Dr. Stewart's historical-cultural exposition of the Sanhedrin trial of Jesus was generally coherent, Mark 16 deals with divine providence leading to soteriology. centralizing this passage around judicial errors/social inequalities undermines the text in all facets. the Son of Man came to give his life a ransom for many(Mark 10:45), he also said concerning his life in John 10:18 "No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father." Luke 24:7 "Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again."
I ran across this video by accident and I'm glad I did because I was so encouraged by the speaker and her boldness. I subscribed to the RU-vid channel of the Church . Prayers for all reading this comment 💞
If I lived in Memphis, I would join this church immediately. I first heard of Rev. Stewart because of her powerful sermon at the National Baptist joint session. But she is a masterful teacher and preacher. Her ministry is the living Word I've needed for a long time.
I am blessed and highly favored by the most amazing king and that is jesus. I'm also thankful for having a blessed church family.thaks for all the prayers, phone calls, and get well cards . please continue to keep me in your prayers.Amen
I have always thought Rev. Gina Stewart was a powerful preacher. I heard her the first time almost 20 years ago. There were some things I agreed with, but I felt many points were too political. The Jesus many people are preaching is more political/militant than He truly was. Of course, He checked the religious leaders, but He also did not condone sin, so this idea that if you preach righteous living in the area of sexuality means you’re bigoted or homophobic concerns me, or this idea that the “left,” or the “right” for that matter is the only way to think to be right with God is also disturbing. As Pastor Tony Evans says “God doesn’t ride the back of donkeys OR elephants. Bible not politics please. Are there some intersections? Yes, but the Word, not our political opinion, should always be FIRST. God bless!
