New shower hoses all seem to feel super cheap and shit. What used to be the standard quality of stuff now seems to be reserved for the hard to find premium expensive products only. Honestly that job with the lino is like my worst nightmare and all sealed up in the daylight it looked really rather neat. I fitted a small lino floor a few years back and made a right mess even though it was basically just a rectangle. The window trim looks fantastic!
Thanks mate. Yeah, I've been dreading doing the lino for some time. I knew it was going to be awkward and only having one shot at it made it feel a bit stressful. It is actually pretty neat in the end and I'm not disappointed at all, which I was immediately afterwards. Thanks! Now I just need to work out how to fix it in nicely. Still scratching my head over that one!
Amazing job! I wish I had half your woodworking skills and your flair for DIY, unfortunately I’m useless! I have just bought a narrowboat which is a little bit of a project so will be trying to learn a thing or two from your videos.
Thanks so much! You can definitely learn! I'm a firm believer that anyone can do anything, as long as you are willing to learn. The most important thing is you give it a go and don't be too afraid to mess something up. Most of these things I've never done before. I'm filming the next video now and I'm making silicone joins in the shower, it's not pretty, haha. I really hope these videos help. Please let me know how you get on, I'd love to know :)
Thanks mate. Haha, yeah I'm finding that out pretty rapidly. I've got a few more doors to make and I'm thinking about buying a second hand router table to see if that makes a difference.
@@EddHawkesuse (wood) glue that dries clear & use the wood fluff (aka sawdust) from your small sander, as long as its clean (incl your hands). Try it out first on an extra piece of wood to ensure the mix is right & dries how you want it.
Thanks! I did actually consider that but the depth of the worktop is 600mm and that is the exact width of the hob, so it won't fit. I don't think it will even be a problem. I should dig out my wok and do a test fit 😂
Great job on the Cargo bike. Nothing wrong with jumping into it and then realizing that you need to change a few things. The Specialized looks too good to cut up. I agree. It looks great built to a gravel bike. Soda or beer cans make good shim material.
If a new plumbing system is installed you must open the furthest tap away from the pump “before turning on pump” so as to release the air in the system, once water exits cleanly without spurting air then turn off tap to see if pump stops, repeat process in water heater as no doubt that will be empty and full of air. Then with pump left on check for leaks, a sure sign of a leak or weepy joint is if pump comes on after a few seconds or a minute or so
Thanks so much! Yeah, I think I will round them slightly. I like the look of a nice sharp edge but I might think otherwise after bashing my hips into them a few times 😂
You did right filing down those plumbing fitting ends - it's very common on quarter turn isolators that people use straight onto flexible tails and over time they chop right through the rubber washer if done up tight!. On the worktop, see if you can borrow a biscuit jointer off someone, as clamped together without some kind of floating tenons it's forever going to want to warp and not be an even join. Stumpy Nubs did a good video on the issue: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4-OGtAs12ZQ.html
You are not the only one who makes woodworking mistakes. I do all the time but what's important is how you correct them and not beat yourself up over it. At the end of the project you did well and it looks great.
get yourself a couple of the plastic pipe cover rings used to cover holes in laminate flooring to cover the slightly bigger holes they split in half and are cheap the do in wood or white or chrome effect solves bigger hole probs also with 15mm pipes going through framing you will need more than 16mm holes to allow for expanstion if not youll get creaking ps make sure the plug waste you got is one that is not got a slot cut in for an over flow as it wont seal
Easy dude, haven't seen you in a while. Your bro linked me to your channel, so good to see your doing well. I'm considering a widebeam in the near future, so seeing your vids is a big help with what to expect. Cheers dude
A carousel shelf unit will solve the cupboard puzzle no problem. You can get them with about 3 shelves that would fill that whole space then you only need a small opening so you can access and rotate them. Used to have one in practically the same size of corner and you can store loads in them.
Cheers David. I did consider one of those before I cut the cupboard down. I don't think they make the best use of the space though. I'm at peace with a cupboard in the living room now and it might actually be quite useful 😂
Have you considered draws? Also, why don't you incorporate draws under the cupboards by raising the base of each cupboard. That'll be great storage space. 😉
I'd love to make a video about the bike. There isn't that much to say about it other than just do a 'tour' of the bike. If it's something people would be interested in then I'd be more than happy to do a video.
