It's just sad that we got only 3 movies of Chronicles of Narnia in 2005 - 2010. Andrew Adamson, director of ,,Shrek" and ,,Shrek 2" did great job in making movies and after watch them we can feel that he had his vision. Now, we can just only imagine how could look like rest of adaptations of books and what more faces from Hollywood and not only from Hollywood could appear in those 4 more movies

Luckily I don't have big physical media collection, 5 blu-rays, 300 cds and maybe less than 200 dvds. Some dvds I just recently checked had weird "waxy" substance on outer rim, I cleaned them with isopropyl alcohol and microfiber cloth and they ripped flawlessly with MakeMKV program. These days I mostly borrow movies and music from library and rip discs to my personal use if they are good.

Pretty interesting. For years and years we were stubborn and continued to buy physical copies of movies. I don’t even remember the final purchase, but it has been a few years. The collection is still in the house. Sometimes the kids still watch them for the novelty. We just met someone from Indonesia! He told us to spend a long time there if we can make it out for a trip. Hope we can within this next year!
oh my!! did not expect this 🥺 i can see its clearly a genuine discussion!! thank you 😄 looks like we're both from the age before streaming, i am so used to buying the physical disc and dont see any problem so i continue to buy them. streaming is really good to find new stuff, and when i really like it, ill buy the disc ha ha plus i do wish you can visit Indonesia. most will come to Bali, but if you can visit Yogyakarta its great too (of course if its not during Indonesian public holiday he he), its less expensive compared to Bali, there are tons of beaches, and the Sultan's palace (the province is still ruled by a king!!) wish you all the best!! 😊

For those who burn movies on dvd-r discs I suspect they are making them on the cheap now... Maybe because they don't sell like they used to, but I duscivered 2 burned discs that have this rot and they are less than a year old
I came here because lately I discovered that 2 dvd - r discs that are less than 1 year old seem to have this disc rot! At first I thought some harsh chemical had been spilled on them because it looks like a big blotch and when the disc is held up to the light that area is completely transparent! You can see that the data is just GONE in the affected area.. This worries me because I'm a collector of rare movies and I like to have physical copies because they might disappear altogether.. So far I haven't had disc rot on any store bought factory pressed discs yet... That would drive me crazy because some of my dvds go for over 100 bucks on ebay!
I'm thinking maybe it's how you are storing your discs. I have been collecting dvds for decades, and probably own a thousand discs.. I have never had this experience of disc rot EVER.. Im sure this is a very rare occurrence and yet you have dozens of rotted discs..

this is how VHS looks like on a 4K TV. recorded directly from my phone, no extra setting or editing implemented. i find it surprising that it can look this good on 4K TV. it looks good on CRT, but not so bad on UHD TV. but the VHS and VCR needs to be in absolute best condition to look like this. so overall, i still prefer VCD. i already have the VCD copy, so i am selling this VHS tape of 101 Dalmatians, and just need to upload this as a proof that the tape is still working so that i can list it with proper price.
@@giuliascalise8968 hello... if you just want to play the movie, have you tried using VLC media player? it is better to uninstall interactual/PC friendly, disable the DVD autoplay, and try installing VLC to play the movie. after installing VLC, simply right click to the DVD Rom folder and select Play with VLC 😊

I have tried this (i have installed VLC many months ago) but the pc doesn't show me the vlc icon, i can only open all the folders like you in this video but i haventw found the video of the movie or even of the chapters or the menu, only the features like mini games, i can use a Windows 7 emulator or something but i dont know, i have many dvds like this but i have some troubles
@@giuliascalise8968 i think we can manually open the movie, it should be inside VIDEO_TS folder. the video format is VOB video file. usually VLC can play this type of format. There will be many VOB files inside Video_Ts, but we can detect the actual movie from the file size. its usually the biggest one 👍
So now I have this dvd and I have a Windows 11 pc, even if i install InterActual Player theres no chance to see the menu, the scenes and the entire movie?
@@BillyBawbCEC have you tried loading the disc to a dvd/bd player? if the scratches are very light, the discs usually still playable. if theres any deep scratch though, then it could be damaged

@@skywalkerhunter95 yes there is actually a VCD in my region as well. So far the rarest Disney title where I live is The Black Cauldron while the rarest in Hong Kong are the 1982 Tron and The Island at the Top of the World.
@@MGVA2003 now that you mentioned the original Tron, i just realized that i have never seen one locally too! and mine is the US copy! blew my mind that we cannot even have the complete Disney Animation line relying solely on our local distributors, even from way back then before streaming 🤔
Inova's old/early VCDs had me wondering if 1.1 and 2.0 has noticeable difference in reading speed because some players (mine happen with Sony and LG) cannot fast forward beyond 4X smoothly for some of old Inova VCDs, but turns out it can affect both 1.1 and 2.0 although i assume it affects 1.1 more (still need to check this again when i got the chance)

I was searching with the “wrong” title, e.g. I typed “Ti Fu Niang-Niang” (which is correct based on my Indonesian VCD copy), but it should be “Di Fu Niang-Niang” (similar pronunciation, different spelling-I think it’s like the case of Mao Tse Tung and Mao Zedong in Indonesian. In many more extreme cases, both the spelling and pronunciation will be different, leaving only “slight” similarities phonetically: e.g. Peh Tin Yo is actiually Bai Suzhen the White Snake; “Peh” is pronounced almost similar to “Bai” while “Tin Yo” and “Suzhen” are totally different and I don’t know why they use different name. The Green Snake is “Xiaoqin” in the Chinese version, but “Syaochen” in Indonesian version). Well my DBPower portable DVD player is also able to detect which VCD version it is playing, when it plays VCD 2.0 the PBC On/Off mode appears on screen after the VCD 2.0 text appears (the PBC mode does not show up on screen on VCD 1.1). Samsung DVD players also show Menu Off when VCD 2.0 is detected.
its a small feature that most new players don't have, but an important one for VCD collectors especially if we want to compare both standars. like some players cannot even display VCD menu,, its not that important but we want to see all the features if its available 👍👍
